Dons got beat badly in the end, but at 2-0 had a real chance to get back in with that goal chalked offside.

Hearing dons fan drown out 60000 Germans with Stand Free even at the final whistle and seeing the team play all the way to end fills me with nothing but pride. No matter the result.

Gers are through though.

indeed we did mate.

is one such case. As we got no pictures of the game here, I can't comment much but radio 5 mentioned it a fair bit at different stages. Uefa don't have the balls to do anything to the clubs though, so I bet it'll continue to happen. Ah well, Sporting Lisbon next, can't believe we've got this far

Fiorentina looking in good shape with 2-0 win over Everton, a fantastic result as Everton are playing very well in the EPL at the moment and are quite fast. I wouldn't be writing them off just yet though..

I watched the whole second half of this game and fiorentina were excellent. Even clive tildsley, the most bias of bias english commentators said they (everton) were lucky to escape at just 2-0. Santana's curling effort with the outside of his right that went just by in the last 5 minutes would have killed the tie of for sure. As it is - evcerton still have a chance.

What a game! Everton faught back to 2-0 only to bomb out in penalties thanks to the brilliant Sebastien Frey. Everton totally dominated but Frey was just superman today, with performances like this its the big clubs that would want him (hopefully Milan ) and hopefully get them to the final.

Forza grande Viola!!!

yeah you wonder how guys like kalac & even dida get so much time when there's guys like frey in the league. Everton were unlucky but you knew they'd lose on pens, they didn't look up for it & in many ways, fiorentina were happy to go there. Same for spurs against psv, I predicted both jenas & chimbonda to miss, you can tell from their body language, and by knowing their overall personalities on the pitch.

Time for a very depleted bolton to make me proud tonight hopefully. And by proud, I mean any result less than a 3-0 defeat, because sporting have had good results against many teams 'better' than us

Ian there are alot of talented young keepers out there that aren't in the limelight and could outshow a big name keeper. Everton could've won 3-0 imo and avoided penalties.

My heart is broken (no, not Everton...a girl) and I'm pissed to the gills. I love England, I love Kristyn Moir and fuck all of you. She was the father of my child! Well not really...but if she hadn't been on birth control, then yes.

P.S. I'm wasted as fuck and fuck all of you. I'll fight you all.

kristyn moir, eh?... so she's available then, right?

... and yet again eliminated by a spanish team. Out-played, out-classed, out-anything... Getafe beat us well in both games. Damn, when does the season end

BTW:

Quarter finals:
Bayern - Getafe
Leverkusen - Zenit
Rangers - Sporting
Fiorentina - PSV

Semi-finals:
Bayern/Getafe Leverkusen/Zenit
Rangers/Sporting Fiorentina/PSV

Good draw for Rangers they should have a decent chance of progressing. Which would be really good (even from a Dons fan).

Would expect a Bayern/Fiorentina final though.

For sure. I hope Mutu comes back from injury sooner rather than later. I lost a lot of respect for him after the cocaine thing with Chelsea, but he is having such a good season that I'm just happy to see him living up to his potential finally.

t certainly was, nice result for getafe in the bayern arena

same goes for PSV against fiorentina

Holy mother, I just caught Toni's second in the 120th minute. WHAT AN INSANE GAME!

Posted by Dervish on Apr-10-2008 21:42:

Crazy stuff indeed!!! I'm at work so couldn't watch it. But sounds unbelievable!

Posted by Intuition on Apr-10-2008 22:26:

For highlights, check out www.rojadirecta.com in the Videoresumenes section on the right. They were all great goals too (as were Mutu's in the Fiorentina game).

Posted by Ian on Apr-11-2008 08:54:

I think getafe were brilliant, considering the resources available to them compared to what Munich have. It's a real shame they couldn't hold on.

Even though I'm a valencia fan in la liga, I'd like getafe to win the copa del rey & get back into the uefa cup because it's a breath of fresh air for a team like this to come in and be fearless. Plus if valencia win the cup, koeman will be safe probably and the sooner he's gone the better.

Posted by Intuition on May-01-2008 20:10:

Bayern just got mauled by Zenit. Advocaat is a tactical genius. And the Fiorentina game still lies in the balance, but they`ve been dominating so I don`t see how they could lose this one.

Posted by verndogs on May-01-2008 20:24:

the fiorentina - rangers game has been an epic snoozefest
