yea im just gonna have to go with the fact that youre bored at work. if you do or dont know the shit you were talking about, its not like i care anyway. are you going to help me learn anything? obviously not. the only way you could is if you knew of a place where to get FREE solutions manuals from. but since you dont, if its all the same to you, i will just ignore your future replys.

but thanks for keeping my thread at the top for a little bit, maybe someone who can help will see it.

where is the satisfaction of solving a problem when the answer is given to you?

Posted by noikeee on Sep-04-2007 22:53:

Are you all idiots, and just throwing shit at him for the sake of it? Where's the point in solving an exercise if in the end you can't check if you got the correct answer or not? The ideal way is not to look at the solution at the start, do the exercise normally and then check if you got it right. If you got it wrong, re-do the exercise until you understand where you fucked up. This method worked pretty well with me..

checking the answers pretty much shows a lack of confidence in problem solving, playing trial-error like game until a satisfactory output comes out of the problem.

Unless you have a solid foundation of the basic building blocks (of anything in general) you'll just keep guessing at it, wondering whether or not you got the answer right; just like wondering if 2/0=2 is correct, lol.

while I agree with the rest of your post,

1. we often learn from our mistakes.
2. consistency leads to a stronger knowledge block hence success and good level of confidence.

i think most people are just mad because this wasnt around when they went to school and had to suffer a bit more.

Uh, no. You'll see if you scroll farther down that I corrected myself after he explained his situation. Otherwise, yes, people that cheat and take the easy way out in life are what's wrong with the world. So you shut the fuck up plskthnxbye.

because no textbook today has an answers section at the end of it

anyway, disect->study->solve

my god, how would i have gotten as far as i did without your wonderful advice?? give it a rest buddy. i know how to study, and i dont use the solutions manual to make my life easier. its just another reference. just like the professors office hours or tutoring or a study group.

and please, pick up an engineering textbook, try to figure out a problem, then look at the back of the book and see how much that helps. its not always so simple.

Uh, that's not true at all, lol. Most of my textbooks have an answers section, and if they don't..the study guides that come with them do.

I didn't say that was the correct solution lol, I was making a reference to people being insecure with simple math; and of course it's undefined, what number multiplied by 0 gives you 2?

ok ... "buddy" ;
I don't give a shit whether or not you do well in school, it's just the principle of choosing the easy way out generally that pisses me off ... but w/e, moving on...
