| Originally posted by jeeper_095 I just explained it to you in a nutshell ... the main think is that you hallucinate. Your body goes in a state of craziness, you heart goes nuts, you feel like you drank 2 kegs of beer, you feel high, to some extent, your gonna be burning hot. After the hallucinations wear off, your gonna get the same kinda feeling as being hanged over, only worse. You're gonna feel like shit for most of the day, your best friend is you toilet for the day and let's not forget that you won't be able to see well for at least 6 hours once the substance is flushed from your body. something similar to the recovering phase is sitting in a chair and spinning for 2 minutes and then stop. When you piss, it's gonna feel like your pissing acid, same for when you take a dump. Finally, you won't be able to rest or at least sleep it off, the only exhilarating thing is the hallucinating phase. There you have it, the one and only experience I had with DXM. |
I remember one night I was sick as shit and I downed a tonne of nyquil hoping it would just knock me on my ass so that I wouldn't have to spend the night hacking.
For some reason, I couldn't sleep. I remember getting really sketchy and paranoid, and started feeling like my eyes were playing tricks on me. I finally passed out, but the hour or two before I did was freaky.
learn about the plateaus if you can...
just a very short summary...
1st - mellow...feeling like you are on something. a little stronger than being drunk. this is about 70-120 mg)
2nd - pleasant... unusual thinking, speech is affected, psychoactive definitely
3rd - semi-hallucinating...(depends though), robowalk, slow speech, dissasociative
4th - hallucinating...OUT OF BODY experiences (about 600-1,000 mg)
i forgot the last stage...i thing it's sigma? however it's very dangerous and i wouldn't even attempt it.
if you ever do trip, go to larrycarlson.com. it's a trippy site. i am not condoning robo tripping, i am just saying!
look at erowid for trip reports and look at
the third plateau
my most notable experiences and memories of those trips are:
my gait: i walked just like ozzy osbourne when i tripped
my speech: i spoke japanese and it took forever for me to speak a sentence in english. (you can definitely feel the affect of dextromethorphan and the language part of your brain)
time: things seemed like events were in a loop... an hour felt like 4. i looked at the clock and it would be 5pm. later on, i look expecting it to be 10 and it's only 7.
i never forgot one trip segment i had when i was sitting on the couch, and i had the semi-hallucination of a half life police officer beating me with a stun gun.
I wouldn't try it if I were you.
DXM is a lot like ketamine but less fun, longer lasting, and dumber. Kind of like ketamine's little brother with Down's syndrome, and PCP is their divorced dad who drives around in a sports car and tries to pick up drunk chicks at clubs...
"all you non sippers no smokers get the fuck out of here bitch".
/bad video. like the track.
any medical articles in this matter?

| Originally posted by Zharen Yeah I forgot about the different plateaus. At the most I ever got to the 3rd plateau. But that was good enough for me. I know a friend who claimed to have gotten to the 4th plateau, having eaten some 40 odd triple C's. He said that he felt the entire world closing in on him, and that somehow, the world formed into a space capsule around him, and he went off on a wild trip through the cosmos. He swears it was the ride of his Life, an experience only topped by DMT. |

It's a really amazing trip to try as something new and different... it reminds me of K.
But yeah, it tastes like ass so you wouldn't want to do it more than once in a while anyway.

dxm is the only drug i have used categories for. of course the higher mg/g you do, the more effects come into play.
well, i wouldn't dismiss the "psychobabble" you speak of. for me, i find it very intresting and i find the "sigma" stage VERY intriguing to read about. i'm not an expert on brain activity under the influence but i do believe that there stages whether or not they are called plateaus.
Yes. I wholeheartedly believe dxm comes in stages or plateaus. Let's face it, you drink a teaspoon or two of the stuff and it acts as a cough suppressant. You take a bit more and it becomes a disassociative. Take a little bit more and it increases euphoria. And then, take quite a bit more and it becomes a psychedelic. DXM is one of those few drugs whose effects change drastically the higher you increase the dosage. As bad of a rep as it has gotten, I found it at the time to be a very fascinating drug.
