Haha this is funny shit.

What a diva

Posted by chesco on Sep-07-2007 08:48:

Tbh, if he has a written contract that says "don't record my sets" then they shouldn't have done so.

I wouldn't be happy either, but I wouldn't sound so gay about it.

I think a lot of whats wrong with dance music comes from live sets being recorded and tracks being ripped. A lot of the magic of going to clubs to see dj's has been lost on the clubber because their hearing dj's play tunes months before they ever see them in person, so there is little surprise element in hearing great tunes.

I can respect the fact he doesn't want his sets recorded and i can respect him for being a great dj, but he does go over board with this rant..

I'd be pissed off too. Though wouldn't throw this big of a fit

yep, but about the fit, this is tenaglia lol, the guy has a handbag the size of the empire state building

Posted by smakmagik on Sep-07-2007 09:29:

hahaha, this sounds really exaggerated.

what if he royally fucked some of his mixes?

bit sorry for those guys at the club, they must feel like laughing and being scared at the same time.

Posted by Scoops on Sep-07-2007 12:28:

the guy has principals...simple as that

and for those who say he is washed up obviously haven't heard him play in the last few months

Posted by Acton on Sep-07-2007 12:48:

is it me, or did he take offence to his set being recorded!?

i can understand the point he is making, but i think he has escalated it a bit too far

Posted by Jessdub99 on Sep-07-2007 12:53:

Wow, somebody needs to grow up a bit. How old is he? I would guess 15 by his response. If they breached the contract, fine, let the lawyers deal with it. Spewing all that shit just makes him look immature and uneducated. This is a perfect example of "think before you speak/type".

Posted by G-Con on Sep-07-2007 13:35:

He's completely right to be annoyed but this is a ridiculous over the top way of acting. If it was in the contract, he can sue the club/promoters and that should be that.

I agree that the magic of DJ sets live has gone now that many of us download them before hand so know many of the tunes already.

I don't necessarily agree with the bit about respecting the artists. Not fully anyway. On the one hand, yeah people can rip the track from a set. But most of us want the full track and having the set on the internet must be great promotion for the producers involved...

I have, and he's washed up.

wow, that makes me sad to be italian.

He sounds like one of those people that showed up at a Greensboro pizzeria that I used to work in and who would "casually" mention to me that they are from Brooklyn and know what a true NY pizza tastes like as if that is supposed to be something over-the-top impressing. Plus half of the time they are not even from NY but from Ithaca or something along those lines. Lame!

awwwwwwwwwwwww poor baby.

Principals you say? So Tenaglia owns several schoolmasters?

The guy is a cunt, plain and simple, if he was anything but a cunt this thread wouldn't even exist.

And his sets are, and have in general always been, overrated.

Posted by DeRangedMind on Sep-07-2007 15:43:

What a piece of garbage this guy is wow what a long article on damn set being recorded. Shit if it wasn't for sets being recorded and sharded then 50% of the time I would be intersted in seeing DJ's especially ones that barely tour in the US. But this isn't the first time hes being bitching about this and it won't be the last.

Now I have to go and hear this recorded

Heres what fuss is all about

considering there was a breech of contract he has every right to go and rant about it.
I think he is so emotional about it because its a big problem in the industry he is in, and i mean if its something he is so carefull about it and tries to protect himself from it, and it happenes wouldnt you ppl b mad 2?
id b fucking pissed if i was lied to like that!
he takes what he does seriously and if he dosent want his sets recorded then thats his right as an artist! it makes me sad 2 c that because of shit like that he wont play the yummiest tracks he has at clubs outside NYC

Posted by RJT on Sep-07-2007 16:31:

So in your eyes, acting like a spoiled child is an appropriate professional response to a breach of contract?

Tenaglia had a great opportunity to make the individuals he's upset with look like complete arseholes, and all he would have had to do was act like an adult.

Instead he whines on the internet like a 13 year old whose parents just hooked up AOL for the first time, and now I actually hope the folks in Italy trying to make money off the set do well with it.

Posted by Pinokio on Sep-07-2007 16:47:

crybaby

Posted by ASFSE on Sep-07-2007 16:55:

i agree the caps lock thing was kind of ridiculous... but keep in mind that not everyone uses the internet/word processors on a consistent basis and thus, probably do not feel any difference between upper and lowercase text...

or maybe he was trying to yell lol, i duno, anyway...

Posted by Allayla on Sep-07-2007 18:32:

taken from a TOTA thread... what a FAG this guy is

""I tried taking a video of Danny T at Guv. I actually had no idea that he was against videos since a)they don't record the sound properly anyways, and b)half the web is filled with his stupid antics. Why do stuff in the booth, and then expect people not to want to record it if they can? Just a 10 second blurb to make him more of a legend. So he flipped out on me and said: "NO, NO, NO, NO videos. STOP IT NOW!" Ruined the entire night for me. Not just from that point on but the entire night. He could have a) not flipped out like a whiny shit and asked me nicely or b) not bring down the stage the whole night or c) played well to keep me dancing and not be bored out of my skull and trying to entertain myself.

I knew he was a jerk/diva but that was the straw. Get over yourself. Or are you just being yourself?
