Apparently with G&D it is...

Went to Rebel first though which was fun. Personally I thought G&D had a 50/50 chance of being good but after a while I got bored and left. They played good tracks but the order just wasn't right...not planning on paying to see them again though, great producers not great DJs

Don't like that Ableton idea either. They'll be too busy looking at the laptop than the crowd. From what I've seen so far, it looks like you need two people to manage the set (one on the mixer and one on the laptop). PvD is the only guy I've seen who does it by himself.

Last night i was in my friend's car and we were listening to the new chemical brothers cd... i seem to recognize a track from G+D's set. Sounded like some guy going 'oh oh oh oh oh' and had a nice percussion in the track. I think the G+D track was a rework or remix by someone, not the original Chemical Brothers one. I was expecting them to play dangerous power - any version, but alas, it was not fulfilled. Markus & Rank 1 in two weeks!!!!!!!! \o/

trust me, it's not hard at all, and PvD just taps into the surface ableton's potential. It's incredibly easy to make a set with ableton and gives you so much room to think that there is no excuse for not having a perfect tracklist or flow.

Posted by BiG MiKE on Sep-09-2007 19:13:

Not much of a review here, but all I can say is, that will probably be the last time I see them, unless I open for them one day or something. Everyone said it about the flow not being there.

Jason, on the other hand, ripped the place to shreds. I want a fucking tracklist, Jason

Posted by hardcoreraverRL on Sep-09-2007 19:18:

last time @ pacha he ripped the roof apart

but this time jason jollin went nuts you could just feel all the energy from everybody all the ravers and other people to... cant wait to see what underworld is going to bring us and the afterparty @ webster hall but john digweed is at pacha so lets all say fuck pacha

I visited NYC for the second time ever this past weekend, and I just want to say I was very impressed with how friendly everyone is!

I came up with a friend from Ottawa on a 6am flight Friday morning. Friend was too tired to make it out to Pacha, so I thought I'd go alone since it was a great opportunity to hear some good music. Huge thanks to Jason for putting me on the guestlist, and I also really enjoyed your set! Very high energy and seemed like you were really into it!

During Jason's set met a couple of guys from NJ, started talking to them and got introduced to their group, who made me feel very welcome for the whole night. Got to see G&D for just under 2 hours, but I was too tired to keep going (23 hours awake) so I headed back to the hotel. All in all a great night, and will definitely have to come back

Hey guys,

I just want to thank all of you for the nice comments and support

I had so many new promo's and tracks to play which made the night a lot of fun. Not sure if you noticed but I was literally burning cd's and then playing them up until about 12:30.

I'm always very critical of my sets, but I was really happy with my set at this last event.

Thanks again and see you on October 5th for Ferry!

It's a skill only few can possess. Requires a sidekick

Posted by Oneeleven on Sep-11-2007 20:30:

Well I hate to say that I missed all of Jason's set. We got lost and not one NY cab driver seemed to know where Pasha was...

G&D were cool. I had a really good time from about 1:30 till 3ish. The first hour was painful and the last hour a bit boring. It sort of struck me as if G&D were sober and maybe a tad hung over for the first bit then the booze and ciggys started flowing, then the music followed.

For the most part the vibe at this club is horrible. The patrons were pushy and not at all friendly. If I tried to make small talk with a few they looked at me like I grew a second head!! I must admit I met lots of nice people on the stairs near the end of the night however and it made up for it.

The staff is so nice at Pasha. Polite and they treated us like rockstars after telling them we were on Jason's list. We cruised right on in past all the lineup ups and walked in! Dunno how! lol Thanks again Jason! You were the only TA I managed to meet in person unfortunately!

All in all, Glad I got to see G&D. Don't like the mack daddy vibe at Pasha. I probably wouldn't make the effort to drive up from Ottawa to see anyone there again tho.

Jason.... please send me a set or two of yours,

Posted by kadomony on Sep-11-2007 20:36:

guarantee you the cab drivers know where pacha is.

dunno why, but seems like the last couple times ive taken a cab, they either go the longest way possible or circle around the place a few times to jack up the fare.
