Yeah well he tried pretty fucking terrible then...as Mikey said, he had his whole hand touching the ball and still he went "Nah, those scots are so darned friendly, i'll let 'em have this one!".

Yea, alright then...

I fucking love it when Americans try and talk about football. Stick to what you know mate; American football.

Scottish national team should wear a kilt on the pitch.

Defending a freekick should be consist of the wall mooning the opposition

Where does most of the French national team play? Do they play in the EPL or in Ligue 1 (I think that's a French league)?

Posted by Ian on Sep-16-2007 21:34:

right now the squad has a mixture. A few are in Ligue 1 but it's a weak league compared to spain, italy and england where most players are.

1 GK Mickal Landreau Paris SG
2 DF Jean-Alain Boumsong Juventus
3 DF ric Abidal Barcelona
4 MF Patrick Vieira Inter Milan
5 DF William Gallas Arsenal
6 MF Claude Makll Chelsea
7 MF Florent Malouda Chelsea
8 MF Jrmy Toulalan Lyon
9 FW Karim Benzema Lyon
10 FW Sidney Govou Lyon
11 MF Samir Nasri Marseille
12 FW Thierry Henry Barcelona
13 DF Franois Clerc Lyon
14 DF Philippe Mexs Roma
15 DF Lilian Thuram Barcelona
16 GK Sebastien Frey Fiorentina
17 DF Julien Escud Sevilla
18 MF Alou Diarra Bordeaux
19 DF Bacary Sagna Arsenal
20 FW David Trezeguet Juventus
21 MF Lassana Diarra Arsenal
22 FW Franck Ribry Bayern Munich
23 GK Ulrich Ram Bordeaux
39 FW Nicolas Anelka Bolton Wanderers

so 1 in germany, the rest as I said

That's what I thought. Ligue 1 is painfully boring to watch and Liverpool destroyed Toulouse 4-0 in the Champions League so I just figured most French players are awful

Posted by SuspicionVandit on Sep-16-2007 21:42:

soccer sucks. Anyone who doesn't have the ball is usually walking, and anyone who has the ball is planning their next dive + sob story to the ref. I watch the Chivas Guadalajara games, but it's insanely ridiculous how people piss and moan about getting a scratch on their forehead or a headbutt in the chest.

Posted by Ian on Sep-16-2007 21:42:

Lyon have won the league for years now, and are a good european side, but they still lack a cutting edge to go higher still. Other traditionally big french sides have lost out as players moved to england & italy & other places, such as Paris SG, Toulouse, St Ettienne, Monaco, Marseille etc, and now a lot of the higher up french sides are ones which 20 years ago weren't doing very well, and they have lots of French-African players in their sides.

Stop watching MLS and Super Liga, it's fucking disgraceful. Watch the EPL or virtually any other league from Europe and it's way WAY better.

Posted by Ian on Sep-16-2007 21:48:

really, if he wants a more physical game, the english is a good place to start, but for flair la liga is great. Then there's italy which is a mix of barbaric and sometimes genius

Usually I am delighted when Scotland win, but I apologise Dervish...I could not feel anything that night, because Northern Ireland just went down 2-1 to Iceland, with an own goal in the last minute
Plus Latvia beat us 1-0...that's what annoys me about us - it's all well and good beating Spain and Sweden, but it's no use if you lose to the poorer teams

European Championship Qualifying : Group F Table
12 September 2007 22:49
P W D L F A GD PTS
1 Sweden 8 6 1 1 17 4 13 19
2 Spain 9 6 1 2 16 7 9 19
3 Northern Ireland 9 5 1 3 14 11 3 16
4 Denmark 8 4 2 2 13 5 8 14
5 Iceland 9 2 2 5 8 17 -9 8
6 Latvia 8 2 0 6 5 9 -4 6
7 Liechtenstein 9 1 1 7 5 25 -20 4

Still, all we need to do now is go and beat Sweden and Spain away from home!

Anyway assuming we don't qualify, I'll be behind Scotland at the euros (assuming you qualify!)

I like that idea!!!

Theres a long way to go yet Ricky, would love it if we did, but really would need to take something off Italy (WC Champs) so still hanging by a thread I'd say. I'll support em to the end though. Plus should boost our quotient for the next tourney like I'd take it the wins NI have had would too?

Always got an out team to support if neither get there.... any bastard playing England! (just kidding really but is fun to listen to the commentators build em up and crush em down)

It is clear that you've never worn a kilt in middle of January... in CANADA

I may be an honourary Scot, but I'm not into masochism, thanks

I'm looking for options for doing teacher's college in Australia.

This depends on how many old ladies I can rob to fund this insane objective

yes an international student always has to pay more, unlike us aussies who let the g'ment pay for it and then spend the rest of our life paying the bastard back

Well, I can either work my ass off for a year, or get an another govt loan.

I wish I lived in Yukon. Tuition fully funded by territorial govt, plus additional expenses covered.

Trade off is that winters are really flipping cold.
