the reason that tl is so good is cuz it was a private show for 300 people. the tampa show will more along the lines of what you posted.

im suprised he dropped probspot - stalker (fine taste remix), that track is siiiiick.

Posted by echoform on Oct-26-2007 21:41:

Damn that TL is much better then the show in Orlando.. I hope he makes it worth the money...

Posted by DiegoParra32 on Oct-27-2007 03:48:

wtf, he dropped lost thought? crazy.

Hit...wow! Unreal, I've seen Tiesto many times and I would agree that he's hit or miss in venues such as these. This was great. First of all let me tell you what he didn't play:

Tiesto - Traffic
Tiesto - Adagio for Strings
Tiesto - Love Comes Again
Tiesto - In The Dark

What he did play:

Tiesto - Ten Seconds Before Sunrise
Glenn Morrison and Deadmau5 - Contact (W/Vocals)
Tiesto ft. Jes - Everything (Cosmic Gate mix)
Deadmau5 - Arguru
Marcus Schssow - Chase My Rabbit
Maor Levi - Reflect
Tiesto - Bright morning star
Artic Quest - Strings and Guitars
Carl B - Deliverance

Help me out.

No cheese, straight up bangin...great show.

Yea the show was sick!I've never seen him at such a small venue but it was a nasty show. Better turnout than Carl Cox but that goes without saying. My only grip was the bean situation. No one I mean no one had any and that pissed me off. No matter I had some 2CB so it was a strait night all and all.

Arrow

It was a major DJ Event in and around Tampa after quite sometime. So excitement and enthusiasm level was quite high - and so was the attendance.

Club Underground seemed like it has been built under the ground - poorly ventilated and had people drenched in so much of sweat that it seemed as if they are just out of a shower. It has a big capacity but no infrastructure to support that capacity. Less than 25% of the pyrotechnic (lights etc) seemed working and fans were too few and too inadequate to provide any relief. Lighting in general was quite poor.

DJ Mondo had a Good Opening! Mostly ID-ID tracks that were suitable to the occasion - he kept the crowd in good shape till DJ Trashy (i assume it was DJ Trashy) took over..

Trashy played some good stuff too but generally lost the plot when he started playing too much of breaks and House - seemed more like he was opening for DJ Icey rather than DJ Tiesto. He is a good DJ but needs to have a sense of occassion. It was almost hilarious that When Tiesto took over, Trashy was playing "Let me be your fantasy". To his credit though, his involvement with crowd deserves props and so does his lip-syncing with his tracks.

Tiesto was ok by his own standards. As it is, he has a big fan-base and a super-charged crowd can carry any DJ and make him feel he did a good job but i would've rather have him carry he crowd to a different level. The music he played is a good indicator of general decline of Trance (and also EDM) as a genre. There was hardly any stand-up-and-take-notice kind of track but he kept banging on and on and the crowd lapped it all up.

Smoke filled and packed floor, super-charged crowd, banging music, colorful and supremely talented entertainers, bartenders shuffling drinks and cocktails at lightning pace, glow-sticks and all - it was all there. In all, it was good to see a major DJ event in Tampa in a while. With Gwavaveen only a couple of days old and Sunset 2007 around the corner, partying season in Tampa has just begun.

somehow based on this review and on the tracklist that was posted a few posts up, you are the reason theres a decline in trance. if tijs doesnt drop the hes a pirate and traffic bullshit you complain. so thanks.

from the tracklist posted this sounds like an awesome show. tiesto has too few these days. i guess since it was a smaller venue and not his theaters and concert halls as of late, he dropped it proper with none of the kiddy bullshit. if i had the money id totally go see him at the heineken music hall for the isos6 release party. thatd be a fucking show!

And i am also responsible for global warming, melting of ice-caps and depletion of the ozone layer. Never mind.

There is nothing wrong in Tijs playing 'Traffic' or '643' or 'He's a Pirate' since large number of people do go to his shows to hear exactly those tunes. Oh, he likes 'Traffic' so he likes commercial/cheese/crap-trance and must be noob - i find this super-elitist. To everyone his own.

But that was not what i was saying when i was talking about generic decline of Trance & EDM. It had more to do with not being able to find a single track in the whole set that can propel somone into asking 'Hey, that track was awesome - do you know what track was that by any chance?'. And there are quite a many lesser DJs who do drop tracks that leave you gasping for IDs.

Posted by av1 on Oct-29-2007 18:54:

Good 2 C Tiesto dropped a good set, that is truly an occasion nowadays.

That partial TL looks decent. I 4 1 would rather hear him bang it out anyday over the progressive/commercial trancelite and Tiesto's greatest hits crap he has played @ Mansion recently

Thats a real interesting selection, considering half the ISOS tracks you listed were confirmed as 100% unplayed!

Here is what another person @ the event produced at tiestotracklists:

-- Glenn Morrison Contact (w/ Lange Dont Think It Feel It Accappella)
-- Tisto ft. Jes Everything (Cosmic Gate Remix)
-- Deadmau5 Not Exactly
-- First State ft. Anita Kelsey Falling
-- Tisto Elements Of Life
-- Gareth Emery More Than Anything (Stoneface & Terminal Remix)
-- Cold Blue & Del Mar 11 Days (Sebastian Brandt Remix)
-- Simon Patterson - Bulldozer
-- Jedidja Dancing Water
-- DAlt Vila - Breathing
-- Arctic Quest Strings & Guitars

Considering the show is running 01:00 - 03:10... thats not a bad effort.

p.s. could you confirm Carl B - Deliverance was dropped? He's definitely got it in the bag at the minute, just wondering how you could spot such a brand new tune.

Posted by stevieboy32808 on Oct-29-2007 20:56:

It was a good show. There were some moments like when he dropped this track early in the set:

Marc Marzenit - Trozitos De Navidad (Primavera Remix)

The crowd went nuts! He also started playing techy around 2 am and that was bangin as well. Aside from the tracks already posted, there are several other unknowns I wish I knew the name of.

Overall I came out a happy man. I enjoyed the show, the vip, atmosphere and everything. Yeah it was packed, but I never mind that. I think my soaking wet shirt can speak for the fun time I had last night, lol.

Posted by fossil2580 on Oct-29-2007 21:11:

Tiesto tore it up in my opinion. Had a great time and heard great music. It was my fourth time seeing him and it was the best set since WMC 2004 at Space. Good stuuf. The only crappy thing was the ventilation in that place. They should just open the roof, put in some palm trees, and call it a pool party. jk. Awesome times...

Posted by feelingsofu4ia on Oct-29-2007 21:13:

Ehhhhhhh.

Nothing special. Underground is a horrible venue, and the staff there is fucking incredibly stupid. They have the willcall line and the people buying tickets there in the same line? Nice one.

Tiesto didn't do as shitty I as expected, being his cd release party and all, but he didn't "bang it out" as others have suggested.

Also, any DJ that doesn't have the respect to do an encore when people are begging for it for 10 min is fucking selfish. Even if Underground closed at 3, he shoulda ended his set early to do an encore.

:P

It's possible that he didn't realize what time it was until it was too late. Once it hits 3am they have no choice but to kick you off.

It sounds like Underground hasn't changed one bit. I'm glad everyone at least had a decent time.

True true.

The only good thing about the place is the sound system, and it only sounds really good if you are up close. Yeah drinks were WAY overpriced for Tampa, even Floyd's has drink specials, Underground had none. Water was the same price as a beer, etc.

Also, the first tracklist is horribly wrong. He never played Chase my Rabbit...or a couple of the others listed even.

so mondo didn't show tiesto up like he did last year at amp ?

Nail on head. That's why I thought it was a good show instead of very good or great. Last night reminded me of PVD at Firestone in Orlando who also did not impress me much. He was bangin' a little bit, but not consistent.

Posted by feelingsofu4ia on Oct-30-2007 07:08:

Exactly. PvD was decent at Firestone, but it wasn't AMAZING. I think he banged it out harder at the Amp earlier this year then he did at Firestone.

This was my first time seeing Tiesto since 3 years back at Ultra, and I was impressed at least.

I still think Ferry > Tiesto anyday.

pvd brought it pretty hard earlier this year at amphitheater(which by the way re-opened this past weekend
