Nah, don't mind the spelling, that's the way we pronounce it, even though it's written "Rio de Janeiro" for etymological reasons.

I live far from there (I'm about one thousand kilometres from Rio, actually ), but if you go to Rio, Cabo Frio (Rio, the state), Salvador (Bahia), Porto Seguro (Bahia) and Recife, I should have a good time

How much more expensive is Brasil during Carnival? I think I saw that it was happening around Feb. 22nd this year. I would like to go during that time, but if it cost twice as much that might change my mind a bit.
