For the record, some of my most memorable gigs have been in Hamilton (O'Lounge, and Sizzle). It's great to see so many people come out to enjoy the music, especially since hip-hop and top40 were the only supported genres for YEARS until a year or two ago.

Sizzle is busy every Thursday, and although I haven't been to O in a while - I know the success has been there as well. Really looking forward to playing Hamilton (aka my backyard) again SOON.

i noticed ppl in Niagara region, especially St.Catharines love drum n' bass..there are a couple of sketchy places downtown that play jungle on a regular basis...as for other types of electronic...i only know one place that does, called ON 81..that's about it

Jelo filmed his vidoe for "darke" there. I went to go see some band there last tuesday...really cool place. small, but has a distinct vibe and atmosphere.

i couldn't agree w/ you more owen. the hamilton scene is growing. o lounge and sizzle are amazing intimate venues for EDM. barcode/lush has had it's ups and downs but i have always had a good time there. if i'm not mistaken it is being renovated right now, so hopefully it'll be even better soon. there have been some events at bottoms up, and concession/catherine streets. i haven't been yet, but i heard the new 77 nights have been pretty good. liquid lounge tried to, but unfortunately didn't succeed in creating a regular EDM night.

it's just so nice to not have to drive all the way to toronto to hear good music in a nice venue. i can also be home in 5 minutes, so i don't have to party it up until 7 in the morning with the rest of my group if i don't want to.

i'm looking forward to what is up and coming for the rest of this year, and next. i have heard rumours of some pretty big names coming to hamilton. we need some fuck'n tribal though!!! i still have to trek it all the way to toronto for my tribal fix.

When people that don't normally listen to EDM, go to a club that has a good DJ spinning, they see the atmosphere and how fun it is, and a lot of people start to get into it more. Suddenly, some of them have gone a few times, and start to go more consistently, not just to hip-hop clubs. More people coming out, means more crowds, the club starts to make more money, more of these types of nights start to happen, and more DJ talent coming in.

Most people just haven't really been exposed to it that much, other than top 40 with some euro dance, and when they do get exposed to it, they start going to it more. It's something new and fun, and lets face it, it's much better than the hip-hop clubs bump and grind shit, and fights all the time lol.

How can people say Toronto throws their garbage at us? That is weak.

pathetic response with no reasoning... classy Over the past year, hamilton has made home to some amazing parties with some big names and some great local residents. People like LoveHate are just miserable people not willing to open-up to change, and change in this sense is good. Intimate venues in Hamilton trump warehouse size venues in toronto who are just in it for the money not the music. We embrace places like O'lounge who are in it for the right reasons and are just there to f#ck'n party and have fun with some top notch music! and who the hell is this dj vinny guy who keeps posting?!?!?

Club 108?

Sugar Daddy's?

:P

I know there's a few more all ages Euro clubs :P haha

But yeah, you should get one going.

The Club Squeeze is acutally pretty decent. They had $2.50 all night long. I have the girl a $10 thinking i'd get a few bucks back but she kept throwing money at me..

I was like WTF?

I couldn't remember the last time i paid that low for a drink
