| Originally posted by djjoshuaallen sasha's set was mindboggling, not much to dance to or throw ur hands up but rather just contemplate how the fuck those sounds are coming together to create a song. It seemed like it was a bit over the head of most of those kids, many of them seemed confused and the crowd was a bit quite during his set. |

The first 5 or so minutes... with that bells loop, my head was ringing for the rest of the night. That has got to be one of the worst loops I have ever heard. I've not listened to sasha much past 2002, but I really expected a lot more. I was much more impressed by Haliwell and Fortier.
The song is made that way...Sasha isnt looping anything.

he did play the loop. I dont know the track myself but I was standing behind him when he was mixing in. It was a loop and then he add the rest of the elements in.
As for the style... It wasnt as banging as we have all probably heard him play in past festival events, but most of the people that played in the main room this year were really minimal and mellow compared to years prior.

i didnt hear much of dj dan as i was all over the place during the festival and massive but the guy is nice. he turned around and shook my hand randomly while on the float which was a surprise. can't wait to see and check out a full set from him soon
Wow. G&D Huge disappointment. I can hardly call it a set. It was more like a ramble. TTD? Seriously?
Question: Who was the guy trainwrecking hardcore in between G&D and Sasha? That was terrible. It was like his CD was playing and he didn't realize the upfader was up.
Sasha. Oh my god that bell sample was terrible. I wished it would stop so badly. I appreciate the 3D stereo effects. Wow I never even realized how neat that could be but the bells were so annoying.
I thought Sasha took a long time to get going. But once he played that one track when the confetti fell from the ceiling. That was where he hooked me. Awesome track. Super smooth mixing obviously. But that's to be expected when you're playing 9 minute long non melodic tracks using Ableton.
Ferry was doing alright too. But after 20 hours of being on my feet I couldn't show him the proper love.
Don't know why everyone is hating the bell sample....that was hypnotizing me.
The funny thing was Sasha saw me back stage after his set and I was in a BAD SHAPE. He was nice enough to ask me "Are you OK Dude?". I look up and saw Sasha and told him "Thanks for Rippin me a New One!" and we both laugh. Got to chat with him for a few minutes. Real Cool guy.

| Originally posted by rizo I'm guessing it was still G&D as there was no one inbetween but they did have to swap out laptop/macs and setup Sasha's midi controller or at least thats what I think happened. |
