ok, tuesday's update! featuring an assortment of climbers & new entrants:

montana 120
[mart] 114.5
Camwin 113 +10
GroundLine 99 +29
Subtle 79 +22
THE_Chris 52
Push2005 48
limin_li 47

SYSTEM-J 44
Philby 43
Lebezniatnikov 30

still no major threat at the top but there's plenty of time yet...

uniques:

montana 4 -2
[mart] 3 -1
Subtle 2 +1
GroundLine 2 -1
SYSTEM-J 1 -1
Camwin 1 -2

some stats:

sample 19 is still in the lead with 8 full IDs, closely followed by 24, with 7. 3rd place is shared between 32 & 75, with 6 each.

the following are yet to be fully ID'd, but have at least one partial: 14, 31, 43, 60 and 66 (which alone has 7 partials!)

the following remain completely un-ID'd: 17, 30, 48, 53, 55, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65 and 74. if you haven't entered yet & recognise any of these, it's time to go grab some uniques!

**drumroll**

it's HINTTIME!

14 - mcdonalds' main rival occupies itself in amusement, sport, or other recreation.. with sharp objects

17 - this tune's flipside was a sucker for dust

30 - a wave. last in a series, process, or progression

31 - there are OTHER versions of this track besides the monster mix you know...

48 - controllers of genre we all know & (mostly) love, providing a dance blast of atomic proportions

53 - a very large mountain, with the middle letter repeated

55 - perhaps more known for the ferry corsten remix in 2004

60 - the title is audible

61 - as above lesser known remix of a classic 1994 trance track

63 - also known as 'jack & danny'

64 - both the singer & remixer here are best known for working on a massive vocal track made famous by tiesto ~7 years ago

65 - worst name for a trance tune evar you may need a lively mind to work this one out

74 - attrill & sullivan seem to be telling us what love is

and so then; a smattering of hints & a few skirmishes later and hey the chart looks slightly different now:

Chittle 138
montana 135 +15
Camwin 119 +6
[mart] 114.5
GroundLine 112 +13
Subtle 105 +26
benjamin 103
Philby 54 +11
THE_Chris 52
Push2005 48
limin_li 48
SYSTEM-J 44
Lebezniatnikov 30

new entries sure as hell don't come much better than that! Chittle flies in out of relative obscurity & dishes out the punishment on montana's pole position, proving the ID contest is never a predictable ride. elsewhere we see another credible new entry from benjamin, whilst high-climber Subtle refuses to be left in the bottom half!

as for the uniques. well i kind of screwed them up last time since that part of my excel spreadsheet was only set to read 60 samples instead of 80, so some of the numbers should have been higher. i'll just paste how it looks now:

montana 3
Chittle 2
Subtle 1
GroundLine 1
SYSTEM-J 1

how do you know they're easy if you don't know them?

because I've heard them gazillion times before, but I can't ID if my life depended on it.

Hell, you know it's easy when The Chris gets 50 points on a contest

Gunning for third!

GroundLine 135 +17
Cobalt 134
Camwin 129 +10
[mart] 114.5
Subtle 105

phant0m 95
Philby 54

Hey! Don't be mad at all of us. It's that Swedish bastard who's to blame. I respectfully stopped at a 3 point margin below your score.

Yea, I know - finally cracked the two that have been wrecking my head since the start (02 & 35), so it's on!

Posted by Cobalt on Oct-21-2007 16:49:

34 and 53 are the ones driving me mad.

34 took a long time for me too, but I finally got it.
43 is the one bugging me, but I've already given up.

Posted by Cobalt on Oct-21-2007 22:41:

Blah, I don't have time to correct the remaining mistakes. Tomorrow is Monday! We'll see how it washes out.

Posted by Chittle on Oct-21-2007 22:46:

Yea, at this stage fuck it. Hope I never have to hear these 80 songs again!

(Still though, great contest regardless!)

Chittle 150 +12
Cobalt 150 +16
montana 145
GroundLine 135
Camwin 129
[mart] 114.5
phant0m 109 +14
Subtle 105
benjamin 103
Ian 84
Philby 58 +4
THE_Chris 52
Push2005 48
limin_li 48
SYSTEM-J 44
Lebezniatnikov 30

i was mentally just about ready to congratulate Cobalt on a hat-trick, but Chittle readily pounced in and provided two vital final points with a mere 10 minutes remaining, giving us a rare tie for first place.

now there are several ways i could have decided on a winner. but frankly, i've had about enough of this contest now and needed a way to settle it quickly & fairly

so without further ado, it is time for us to consult the weak, decrepid, beaten down but nonetheless vital excuse for a uniques chart..........

montana 3
Chittle 1

so that does it! Chittle wins! congratulations! and just to rub salt into Cobalt's wounds, the single unique in question was sample 53

i'll post the tune list up in a min when i get it formatted properly..
