Thats the first thing I thought of.

Looks like the trackers are still accepting CDN connections. I wonder how long that will last...

http://www.bypassthat.com

Thank you buddy! The proxy's did not work for me, but bypassthat did.

There are a few programs you can download that are pretty good. I think ones called IP Platinum.

It allows you to trick the site into thinking yoru connecting from a different country by selecting an IP from a different country.

You can select US IP Addresses which will gain you access to lots of nice stuff that we can't get.

Posted by Orko on Oct-03-2007 19:16:

Thats exactly what a proxy does.

I was also going to suggest hidemyass.com

Private Torrents are not safe

quote:
OiNK, a private torrent tracker, gets raided

OiNK, the extremely popular private torrent tracker has been shut down and its owners home raided by both UK and Dutch police.

According to investigators, OiNK was the source of pre-release music which then spread to P2P networks as well as other torrent sites and blogs.

The tracker however, was private and membership required an invitation so it is safe to say the operators of the site felt secure from any legal fallout that recently happened to other public trackers and P2P sites.

One man, a 24-year-old resident of England, was arrested and the datacenter where OiNK's servers were located was raided in Amsterdam.

"OiNK was central to the illegal distribution of pre-release music online. This was not a case of friends sharing music for pleasure. This was a worldwide network that got hold of music they did not own the rights to and posted it online," said the IFPI in a statement.

According to the IFPI and British Phonographic Industry (BPI), the raids were a result of a two-year investigation and that the operators of OiNK were making substantial money from the site.

More news on any fallout this latest hit to the torrent community has.

Either you're paying to be able to pirate (somewhat silly), or you're using the most painful and annoying method of downloading ever.

Posted by exstasie on Oct-24-2007 18:16:

Ah yes..good old Oink!

Seems like other private trackers have taken notice. pretty much all the sites I visited have completely revoked all forms of invites informing the members that they may not be re-instated for a while.

On another note, Just got OSX Leopard

my brother asks a valid question, can you torrent through MAC OS X....hmmm. Well my anwser, just parralell's LOL.

How is Leopard?

Posted by exstasie on Oct-24-2007 18:34:

Azereus has a Mac Application for downloading torrents.

Haven't installed it yet. Left it downloading when I was at work and noticed that its complete right now.

Majority of the upgrades are pure aesthetics and not to much on functions, so we'll see how it is.

Torrent Leech has turned off all invites indefinitely as have most large private trackers.

Hey, I never said I was doing anything for anything. But if one were so inclined, a monthly fee of less than the cost of a single afternoon's lunch seems like a fair price to pay for nearly on-demand access to, well, anything.

Torrents, now those are painful and annoying.
