I was merely retorting with an equal level of tact and decorum shown within that of your original attack. Ie, a shit and childish one. Sometimes the best way to answer someone not as bright as ones self is to stoop to their level. I'm guessing you experience this a lot in the real world.

Shall I sit tight while you consult the dictionary?

No need, I already know those words even though English isn't my mother tongue.

Are you two actually arguing about anything?

well you stoop to a lower level on a regular basis in all your posts regardless of whether someone else is stooping to a lower level, so you couldn't be any more wrong

-I went to do my laundry, and the subtle clink-klonk of loose change in my jeans beating against the dryer wall sounded like minimal
-I went for a walk, and passed by a construction site which reminded of listening to Power Electronics
-I sat absolutely fucking still in a soundproof room, with my hands over my ears and held in my breath. Sadly, the rhythmic beat of my heart had me recalling a few gentle ambient interludes of yore.

THIS DAY CANNOT BE DONE!

Fuck yeah!!!

It does seem like a stupid idea but it might be interesting. Could even make you enjoy music more once the 24 hours are up.

I disagree, it's entirely possible.

Just listen to Gabba compilations all day.

The idea can well and truly fuck off.

personally I think it might be really cool to experience a day without music, especially since music is not limited to our personal listening, but is used to sell nearly everything in the world, to entertain you while you pick up prescription drugs, to relieve awkward silences, etc

I think we would be able to hear things we´ve never heard before, people, places, and make our own "music" with our experience of daily life.

I think conceptually it´s very cool, but the way it will go over is just as annoying and trivial.

Some good points here, and I agree it's an interesting idea.

quote:

I am observing No Music Day because: It's not music any more. It white noise. It's product. It's a core demographic. It's a target audience.

I will be observing No Music Day by: Avoiding the regurgitating of Coldplay / Snow Patrol songs that these so called music directors for piss poor / lazy TV channels decide is the very epitome of emotional outpooring. Informing people of musicians that actually had something to say when you could believe in it. Because they believed in it.

Thumbs down

What a load of shit. Who came up with this nonsense?

Posted by beema on Nov-21-2007 07:01:

So is anyone attempting this?

I just heard about it 30 mins ago on a radio show where the interviewed Will Drummond about it. Unfortunately they also played music on that show, and it's already the 21st in my timezone so I'm screwed. I was interested in giving it a try.
I interpret it as somewhat of a statement against the massive amounts of noise pollution we all encounter on a daily basis.
