if I'm not mistaken the grip on the RPD is different, it's all in one piece while this one looks like it's split in 2 sections just like the AK, and the M76 is basicly just an AK with a longer barrel and a slightly different stock.

All of the guns found were air guns except for the one that his mom recently bought him. I don't know if that is a legit pic or not because the one shown on news sites was different and also had a lot of collectable knives. I went to that HS btw. My little brother goes there now and said it was pretty hectic in there yesterday.

(Why they sell them to general public is beyond me...)

why they'd chamber a nice rifle like that to a pistol round is beyond me too

Think it's mostly done by police forces because mostly because it's cheaper than buying a new 9mm submachinegun to just refit them, M16's are fairly cheap things.
As for it's use, 9mm is fairly much just as deadly as 5.56mm at under 10m, (I don't think anyone having either round shot at them in close confines ever stopped to say "Gee, glad the cops are only using 9mm!" ) however the rifle round will quite happily go through the person you shoot, couple of sheet rock walls and bounce around a bit before being stopping. 9mm doesn't do that 'as much', so it's sort of a tactical reason not to cause as many civilian casualties when hosing down some bad guy on full automatic... which has it's own ass-backwards logic

That's most likely an SVD. The stock is interchangeable with AK.

J David Farrell, the lawyer representing the teenager, stressed that people need to keep in mind that of all but one of the weapons put on display yesterday by prosecutors were BB guns and air rifles.

Yes, Hitler (and the government before Hitler) passed gun control laws.

However, I doubt it was to control an already controlled population. It was most likely used to create a sense of law and order. Then again, it's possible that it was a paranoid reaction by Hitler, though I'd doubt it a bit since he didn't start taking pervitin until 42.
