If you still can't get out to the internet after that, then something's wrong with the way you are configuring it. hard to say...

did beatport's support ever get back to you?

that worked for my internet, i can connect using that dns, but i still have problems connecting to beatport. and no their support never got back to me...... i posted this issue in their forums too and they told me to uninstall and reinstall the flash plugin which i had already done before and thats not even the problem.

well, it's clearly a networking issue, since it works perfectly fine when connected to someone else's network. i think im out of ideas for now, so if anyone else wants to chime in...

thanks anyway for all your help. i guess if i need to get something off beatport i'll switch networks. i've looked into several alternatives but all the other websites have prices in pounds or for $3 a track, which will rob me senseless.

if anyone else has any other suggestions let me know.

who is your isp? don't some cable companies limit bandwidth to prevent you from making large downloads?

how about you fix your large sig to follow the signature rules

i doubt thats whats causing the problem, but its annoying.

Wow can't believe you're STILL having issues, I never bothered to read this thread because I saw the title, checked out Beatport and it wasn't down lol

Sorry man, did you get it sorted out? Are you using a router or are you just connected straight to your modem?

i'm using a router, but the router isn't the problem because i connected my desktop directly to my cable modem and it still didn't load. like i said i can get it to work if i connect to another network other than my home network, i just get slower download speeds.

Posted by bas on Oct-21-2007 21:02:

You're on Time Warner correct? What kind of modem do you have?

motorola surfboard. its pretty old, i've had cable for a few years. think that has anything to do with it? like i said it worked in the past, just in the last couple of weeks it doesn't load.....

Posted by bas on Oct-21-2007 22:15:

Not sure, that COULD be the problem. But I don't know why the type of modem would make a difference. Have you tried doing a hard reset of the router/modem? Or maybe downloading new firmware for your router?

lol, it did the same thing to me awhile ago when i was having problems, it only wouldn't load in internet explorer, loaded sometimes in firefox but was incredibly slow. now it works on both but its still slow sometimes and has a lot of bugs. for example i was getting some tracks last night and it kept logging me out and asking me to log back in each time i tried to dl a track, did the same shit during checkout, took me forever to download 6 tracks.

Just a slightly off topic note, if you go to www.rukes.com and click on my beatport.com banner to go to the site, anything you get within 10 days will go towards my ad revenue So if you want to help out a bit, just click on the banner before you get stuff from beatport, hehe

Posted by gerard6975 on Nov-23-2007 10:28:

no idea guys but beatport works for me except for that freakin downloader. just bought new tracks to play this saturday for incognito @ red.

are all of you using windows vista by any chance?

Posted by djgilla on Nov-23-2007 20:21:

No using Windows XP. Its been like this for about a week for me at home. Seems to work fine at work. I don't get it!

Posted by djjoshuaallen on Nov-23-2007 20:32:

ask jeeves, i dont use beatport

Posted by bucke on Nov-23-2007 20:57:

beatport is a piece of shit. the only reason i still use it is that it has pretty decent prices and a convenient navigation system. but the whole flash thing needs to go, its full of bugs.

here are some alternatives i discovered:
www.cdjshop.com
www.3beatdigital.com
www.trackitdown.net (pretty expensive)

the only problem with these is that all the prices are in british pounds, which comes out to almost twice as much in USD.

Posted by bullz on Nov-26-2007 08:03:

I figured that browsing on Traktor3 will work for beatport.com

it a small interface but it works... eh...

Posted by bullz on Nov-27-2007 03:05:

You can also get this Beatport Sync interface to browse.

Get it HERE
