I've been watching this thread for a while out of curiosity. I'm black and I go to raves. My best answer is simply that new-age african-american culture is more closed-minded than many people realize. I've noticed that people who are easily seperated by being 'non-white' hold firmer to ideals and people that are like themselves. Being considered 'white' binds a person less to a culture because it is much broader because being white means you can be of european, german, irish, italian, etc decent.

Thats my take on it, for the US anyways. lol
