Well you're about half way through the lease. So your best bet would be to trade it in. Now depending on the deal that you originally got, you could be in a bad, or a relatively good position. I would have to get your car appraised and compare its value to what your total payoff is.

Question about the A4 though. Do you need it to be Quattro? I ask because those are a bit more expensive.

That's so lame.

I think nch meant if you average $300/month in repairs, not 300 miles. Man, 300 miles a month is like nothing. That's almost a single tank of gas. How much of a down payment would you be planning to put on a car?

yeah i know its like 5k(? i cant remember for sure) more. i hate FF though. FA or FR only for me. i currently have an 06 impreza rs wagon. nothing special but i cant deal with this lease anymore. if i stay in it im forced to buy the car out since i will be so far over my mileage. sucks but its true. if i can only put 2k on in the next 3 months i think ill be ok but i doubt that will happen. although i do drive much less than i was.

Its about 3K more to be exact.

Im sorry, Im not catching your abbreviations FF, FA, FR?

If you trade it in before lease end then you don't have to worry about paying on mileage. Though its still going to affect you as your tradin in a not so old car with quite a few miles.

You people need to stop driving so much!

I've had my Acura TL for 1 yr now and I'm not even at the 7500 mark yet.

I think buying a certified pre-owned car is a good idea i you save some cash on a fairly new car with low miles.

You can go to a broker if you don't know what you're doing though... and usually they cost money for providing their expertise in buying your next car. Nothing too expensive when compared to buying a car, but from experience, Autoland (which is a broker for credit unions) charge you a ~$250-$300 fee for finding the car that you want at a "negotiated" price. Not a bad idea, but not for the ones who know what kinda of car they want to buy and know the price.

-My advice is to know what kind of car you want, (Price range, size, model, etc) and narrow it down from there.
-Know how much the car is worth so you don't get robbed at the lot. You should know about the options they have on the car (and ask yourself, do you really need a NAV DVD 6-CD changer TV in the headrest)
-And don't be afraid to walk out the lot if you dont see what you like.
-Having a "good" down-payment on the car can get you leverage on getting what you want. Financing, dropping the price...
-Even on financing, know the APR's banks are offering and know what's a good rate or what's a rip off. Even take a calculator to the lot to estimate your payment.

*ok guys sorry i wrote so much... anyways,

Here's a couple of sites to get info on prices:

Im an Internet/Fleet Manager at McKenna BMW, Audi, Porsche in Norwalk. If you're interested in any of those, I could most defenitely hook you up! It's what I do. Auto brokers like Josh Allen work with us because we give them the cars really cheap.

(Sorry man, but im a have to steal your business)

Reality is, I can give a better deal than an autobroker! Any day!!

And though leasing does have its restrictions, its easy to get around them depending of a persons situation and what they want to do at the end of the lease.

damn, i just leased a new without talking to u

I def know the feeling julia, i had a jetta for 5 years, right after the warrenty went out, i was spending an evg of 300 per month on nonsense. I finally said forget it and sold it to carmax and just bought a brand new camry. This think just needs gas and oil and it will run forever!

Posted by djjoshuaallen on Oct-18-2007 01:59:

oh yea, if you DO want a new car, contact Gil LA, he can get you any brand new car you like at a great deal. He is one of those new car broker so you dont even have to deal with a sleezy sales man. I went to a bunch of dealers, finagled my best deal and gil still beat it by over 2k.

and he delivers

Why with all the hate man?

Sure the retail sales person may be sleezy or whatever stereotype you can think of.

But as I already stated, im an Internet/Fleet Manager. My focus is not gross profit, rather than moving units out of the store. Which is why brokers work with us.

And im sure the brokers outthere would not appreciate if I tell everyone here how they make there money. Bottom line, they're the middle man. As a Fleet manager I have about full authorization to give rock bottom prices without negotiation.

Im not under the same pay structure as an auto broker, so when it comes to pricing, they will NEVER beat what I can offer.
