But drag and drop fx.....arg, that alone is the outstanding reason by a long way that makes me want to upgrade. |

anyway... C4 is a major step up from SX3 in my oppinion. instrument channels, sidechaining and the quick edit panel thing would make it worthwhile for most people. it does have it's downside though - there is a bit of extra bloat.
Frankly, I couldn't care less about the bloat, my computer is fast enough to handle it. The only thing which steers me away from Cubase is the workflow. I hate having too many windows. This is all preference though. Infact, people with smaller monitors (I have a 22" LCD) would probably prefer the window style UI.
I wish there was a damn demo so I could try it on my machine.

anyone know where there is a manual for the new stuff??...at first glance i dont see how to use the sidechain
nevermind...found it hehe
-- I opened up a project that i did before the update with 4.1........and my VU meters are not working now... anyone got around this?
Lots of people are having issues with the update being stupid. Errors occur when it tries to merge with your old settings.
I followed these instructions located here:

Everything is working fine now. Hope that fixes your VU meters.
Oh and side-chain is easy to do. Has to be a VST3 plug-in (of course). Open up the plug-in and press a button that looks like a little bracket "[" turned on it's side with an arrow pointing down into it.
That plug-in will now show up as a bus destination. Go to the track you want to key the compression and use a send. Simple.
