I'm surprised the refrigerator is not on that list.

it depends on the model too. I played an older stienway and it felt like crap (probably due to poor maintenance as well...it was even a 9' also). The better stienway i had to really work for the sound, allowing ppp to be more possible (unlike any yamaha model ever). Its been awhile since i've played one, so i don't remember the highs as vividly.

Ugh. God, I hate people who can't stop with the text messages. To think of all the man-hours wasted on the worthless garbage that gets sent through the SMS networks: "wut up -> yo -> im spsd 2b workin -> haha lol".

And yes, to all the compulsive SMSers, I'm sure YOUR text messages are extremely important and/or interesting, but seriously, it's just fucking rude to be fiddling around on your phone while somebody else is trying to talk to you. It's way more rude than just having the ringer go off and stepping outside to take the call - at least that way you only look like a tool for the 20 seconds it takes for you to step outside, not for 20 minutes while other people wait for your half-assed responses.

There are times when it's important to respond to an SMS. 99% of the times people actually do it, it isn't one of those times. Cell phones are alright, but SMS gets my vote for worst invention ever.

Amen to that! And while we're on that subject... *cough*zone*cough*

Also.. the computer/internet. You should see me on days where the internet is down or my computer is broken. I'm like a lost boy. Never know what to do with myself.

Hmmm that's a tough one.

Electricity, knives, the wheel, music, computers, airplanes, cars, medicine, clothes, houses... I could go on and on. :P

The cell phone? I find cell phones more annoying than positive. I hate sitting at coffee shops while the people you hang around with are getting texts from their clingy women who can't deal with them not being home for 2 hours. I hate hearing people tell me about how l33t their Samsung u740 is (its a POS guys, come on).

I definitely think printing press would be way up there for significance to human developement.

i agree, cell phones are more annoying than useful. They've got out of control, and everybody has become a slave to them.

I don't own a cell phone, and although it would be nice for emergencies or whatnot, i have made due fine without one. I just take care of things when i have access to a phone instead. The main reason i don't have one is i like to do without the $40/m fee.

lol @ SMS police.

But yea', don't even get me started on cellphone etiquette.

- People answering phone calls, or leaving their ringer on in a restaurant or when having a meal with others

- People answering their phone when you're in the middle of a conversation with them, and then proceding to start a conversation with the person on the phone.

- People answering their phones at all when you're in the middle of a conversation with them (couldn't it wait 5 minutes)

- People getting mad at you because you didn't answer your cell phone. (ie. people thinking that just because you have a cell phone, they have a god-given right to be able to reach you)

The list goes on.
