This poll is about who's the best DJ. As in Disc-Jockey. NOT Producer

And where is LORD OF BASS in that list?

The fact that Oakenfold is still in top 15 just shows how pathetic this poll is.
Also, Fedde Le Grand is the 22nd? Based on what? For fuck's sake...

Of course, if this list is valid. Even if it isn't, DJ Mag is still a load of steaming horse shit.

FLG supposedly tears shit up live. But I have not witnessed this in person. I expected Eric Prydz to be MUCH higher...

This list is 100% real

Ive known for a while already
Lawrence was reinstated from the accusation but it never said he was gonna be in the poll again! Also... Lawrence and DJ Dan's article is gonna be in the same djmag as the top100 poll, not in next month's

Posted by headphonez on Oct-23-2007 20:28:

and no way in hell should Deadmau5 be on there....christ. His productions have turned stale and its all very cliche electro-by-numbers in my opinion. his remix of harder better faster stronger is blown way out of proportion.

Yeah, but every other person (*) who goes out at Saturday night has heard Put Your Hands Up For Detroit.
That pretty much sums up why he's up there in top 25.

* And that includes even their mothers.

its not about being good. If a dj is high up on the list it means hes popular and popular djs fill clubs so promoters book them makes sense to me.

It means he has a lot of votes. What annoys me is that they take the list seriously when it has been exposed so many times and proven to be a load of rubbish.

his productions have given him more exposure as a DJ, it's not that hard to figure out

I think infected in the top 10 is a load....only spot on there that makes me think this list may be fake...

This list confirms what everyone already knows, the Top 100 is a complete JOKE. The placements are all wrong, some of them are downright laughable.

How the hell can DJ Mag say they were combing through the results this year??? If they sent any of us this list we could have pointed out some very "strange" placements worth investigating. WTF??

The folk over at DJ Mag are desperately clambering to try and restore some credibility to their dying poll so they can keep making money but people see it for what it is, RIDICULOUS.

Has anyone seen the actual mag?? I heard they were gonna name and shame a bunch more DJs, but considering how it blew up in their faces with the last DJs, I doubt they'd have the guts anymore.

I wouldn't be so sure. With their latest album, I'm sure they attracted a whole legion of new fans. In fact, so new that they're uniques to the world of EDM, and thus have the power to propel IM even higher in the ranks:

The moronic metalhead.

(also, having a cover issue in DJ Mag this year probably didn't hurt IM's exposure either)

get off your high horse and consider that its 375,000 different people with different views all voting. The placements arent all wrong or downright laughable. Infact this is the first year I can honestly say the entire chart seems pretty accurate apart from Van Dyk at 4 and Tiesto at 2 (should be the other way round ;p).

Id hardly say the poll is dying - its getting more votes than ever before.

Im not going to reveal the name of the person I got it from because it wouldnt be fair to that person.

If only you wouldve read my post
They aren't naming or shaming anyone in this number

There are however 345,000 votes (increase of 60%) from 220 countries who voted for a grand total of 89,393 different DJ's

You must either work at DJ Mag or be close to someone who does, so I'm sure it's hard to hear that people think the poll is bunk. Perhaps you should go to a Chinese forum, I hear they take it seriously over there.

The polls credibility is dying. Maybe you should check the numerous other threads on the subject (if you don't believe me) both on this board and any of the other dance boards. People are sick of the poll, they do not believe the poll is credible and many think it is rigged.

That is why DJ Mag have been working so hard to make people THINK they are "cleaning it up".
