Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance, in a desperate attempt to regain their fans, convert into hard rock electronica, sparking a fued with The Prodigy. The feud gets out of hand at the 2012 Grammys, ending with a drive by shooting, with Robert Elster from Vibrasphere accidentally getting killed in the crossfire. Ulrich Schnauss joins G-Unit (which he later claims: "I only joined because i needed protection"), sending all of EDM into the Era of Gangsta.

I like this theory.

oh man, I'm behind! when did deep house get the 1337 torch passed to it by tech house?

also, move my epic trance coming back prediction back from 10 years from now to 15.

aids, hopefully in your face

Progressive house/trance experiences a big comeback, reminiscent of the mid, late 90s/2000-2002, the kind of stuff sasha and digweed were hammering back then.

Farting baselines, boring, monotonous bleep bleep bloop MNML/electro/tech house fucks off for good.

Never gonna happen though, one can only dream

Celtic-House, only thing that hasnt been done, makes sense.

Posted by Sushipunk on Oct-25-2007 03:26:

Ambientcore will take over.

Posted by Mr Moss on Oct-25-2007 03:56:

swedish synthpop/electro such as Slagsmlsklubben, Pluxus and Thermostatic will storm the pop scene and take over with their chiptune filled riffs... ppl will stop listening to ambient and replace it with darker psyambient and etheral music

im picturing James Lipton on Conan reading that in his 'in the year 2000 voice' with the flashlight on and lights off

Posted by thoughtlessjex on Oct-25-2007 04:08:

Progressive Ambient Dubstep Polkacore.

I'm calling it here and now.

Posted by LoveHate on Oct-25-2007 04:13:

candy ravin will come back in style!

2 dozen holllywood movies will be made on the fad, and 40 year old britney spears will be seen partyin it up with her kids with pink nap sacks and pretty bracelets!

Posted by KeSs on Oct-25-2007 04:16:

Fixed, imo.

Hopefully there will be more and more VT style shooting rampages. Each bloodier than the last.

Nah, they've been playing with acid here and there over the past year, I wouldn't say it's sticking.

I think it's only a matter of time before the progressive-now-tech-house headliners start pillaging breaks again. Just think, buzzy breaks! Oh the madness!

Nah. As you'll find once you get here, Vancouver is always a few years behind the times. They're just starting to get into 'minimal' now.

Hardly releasing 'a new style of electro' though.

Actually, I kinda agree with you...if Digweed's essential mix is any indication. If I heard it randomly and didn't know what tracks were out today I'd swear it was a set from the late 90s cause it totally reminds me of his sets from back then.

Think we are gonna see prog trance and prog house merge even closer together in the next few years.

I assume our motivations are completely opposite though. You don't want to hear this music everywhere and I don't want something beautiful get spoiled by the mainstream.
