can't believe all the hate in this thread? its a contest, a chance to win a cool trip. events of any nature are held practically anywhere in the world. If you don't like above & beyond, no one gives a shit. this is obviously for people who do, and they will enter, and life will move on.

1. Goa was "commercialised" long ago.

2. There's loads of beaches in Goa that are totally non-commercial. Those of you who think Ibiza has beautiful beaches... you've obviously not travelled too much.

3. The event isn't called Anjuna beach, It's called Sunburn.

4. It's not on Anjuna Beach, but on Candolim beach, Goa on the 28th and 29th Dec.

5. A & B will host their own stage on the 28th and play a 4 hour set.

6. Yes, J00F will be there; so will Carl Cox and Axwell (and about 20 more artists)

7. The contest is for real. Winners get tickets + accommodation for 5 nights.

8. I know it's for real because I'm paying for it.

As Smakmagik said... if you can make it, come. You'll never regret it. Goa's amazing, it's cheap... and the weather's better than anywhere else on the planet.

Tickets go on sale in a couple of days... check www.sunburn-festival.com

God, now they are trying to commercialize goa? Fuck that.

Goa turned into tourist clubber hell AGES ago. If anything, the Anjuna-posse is extremely late.

if you think goa is a tourist clubber hell... you've obviously never been to cancun.

ive been a whole shitload of vacation spots around the world, and goa is pretty fucking chill all things considered- sure it isn't the same goa as it was 5, 10 or 30 years ago, but tell me where is.

Good point.

Just saying, I seriously doubt that Anjuna are going to "destroy" anything about Goa when it is getting around 2 million tourists per year as it is.

if anything a festival like this gives

it new life.... its getting commercial over there, nothing we can do to stop it, but id rather have a bunch of people working their asses off to throw a killer EDM festival than not.

the tourists will be there anyways, at least now they get a sick festival.

you also have no idea about how excited local EDM fans about this event, people in bombay, delhi, calcutta all very very excited for Indias first festival with house, trance, techno and more.

It's not that easy to get tour djs down in india so this is HUGE!

It is.

As far as Goa going commercial - Ha.

The commercial beaches on Goa are Baga, Calangute, Candolim, Aguada (Actually one 10km stretch of sand), Colva and Miramar. Goa has, lets see... about 100 beaches more; most unexplored.

Anjuna - hippie/psy heaven is as commercial as a barnyard with no running water.

Allied - thanks for the support. Most of you who haven't been to India; explored the scene here, cannot understand what some of us have done in the past 6 years to make this happen.

only thing i know about that name is he produced a track that paul van dyk played in that 1992 dubmission set....and that he plays along with a trumpet

does he still do that? is he still touring? don't think i've seen him on another bill before (maybe I am in a hole?)

Last time I checked his sets were full of shit house records that he occasionally trumpeted over. To think that the guy made this and used to play stuff like this...

1 Drax - Section 2
2 Age - Acre Of Brain
3 Cyrus - Enforcement
4 Love Inc. - L'Experience
5 Jammin' Unit - Kardeslik EP
6 Deltraxx 5 - Explorers Of The Mind
7 Dr Jekyl & Mr Hyde - Midex
8 C-Tank - House Hallucination
9 Norman - The Big Deal
10 Zekt - It's Goodbye
11 Apocalyptic Heroes - Hell On Frisco Baby
12 Pinhead - Slammin Beatz

He's one of the residents at Bora Bora, Ibiza - and he really turns it on there. Yes he still plays the trumpet. Yes he's doing a full tour of India in Dec ( 4 cities)... and yes, I think he'll do well on the sands of Candolim beach in Goa.

Trumpet and all...
