When was this established?
Wearing your hood up all of the time (when it's clearly unnecessary) is understandably suspicious, but so is any sort of attire where you cover up your head/face presumably for the purpose of avoiding identification. There is nothing 'gangsta' about wearing a sweater.

It all depends on the type of hoodie you wear and what you wear it with.
I have a few Animal and O'neil hoodies...no one would call me a chav since Animal and O'neil fall more into the surfer/skater catagory than Chav.

a have a couple
last weekend a friend of mine borrowed a Fubu hoodie .... some swiss girls giggled while pointing at him and said "Fubu"
chav-tastic

And yeah. it's the general lack of intelligence that these people have. They all look the same, lonsdale hoodie, baseball cap, piercing, tattoos that say "omg im hard" and a general aim to intimidate their way through things. |
I looked like this back then:
chav or not chav?

I don't really see what makes her a 'chav', other than the hat?
She's hot either way.
Edit: and the earrings maybe.

I don't get what's with those last two pics? I know the burberry is aparently OMGFORBIDDEN in britain.. what about the first one? Is it because of the generic lower back tatoo? The denim? What CAN you wear in britain without identifying yourself as being part of some retarded social group you don't even know about?

So do I.
It looks cool and it doesn't matter if chavs wear it, here where I live no one even knows what are chavs, let alone what represents them.

the 1st one is a bit of the tat yeah, but then the low cut top (when they dont have the actual body for it) and the stupidly ott shoes.
However, I do wear what montana calls me a chav for, adidas pants, for their comfort & the way they last. I just don't tuck my socks into them, wear bling or Lonsdale stuff with it

Ha, I'm glad I don't see chavs every day now
Yeah, 'hoodies' are chavs who where baseball caps underneath them. They pilfer benefits so they can buy plasma TVs and, meh, I could go on. Either way, I'm glad to be shot of that daily sight.

at the first one, idk if it identifies her specifically as a chav...but denim denim thong and high heels is a hell of an outfit

1st Pic: Yeah she looks hot...but a Chav this hot blatently lost her virginity when she was 12 and dropped out of school when she was 14 dues to getting pregnant and is now on benefits...honestly, this is how it is.
2nd Pic.: The key features that overall mare her full of Chavness are:
- Hair thats being dyed repeatedly with toilet bleach to save money for "White Lightning" cider.
- Generic lower back tattoo that she got while underage that has no meaning whatsoever.
- Low cut jeans and thong. To lure the male chav in the hope of getting more kids for more child support.
- White 70's platforms picked up from a carboot sale
Cloudburst that is not Chavvy, don't worry.

Britain hasn't had the race problems that the U.S. has had (at least not yet), so they got obsessed with class instead.

That's because the americans don't have any class regardless of how poor or wealthy they are

Ha!
For a long time rich Americans would try to learn French and try to imitate British upper class manners. American "high culture" is nearly all borrowed.
But nobody can beat us as exporters of low grade shlock.

we've had (and have still) some problems with it. Previously we had the black vs white one, which is largely overcome in the media etc anyway. I know plenty of black lads in town who used to play footy in the leagues and you never thought of them any different, but you'll always get some exceptions to the rule.
the main race things here are the islamic vs christian type ones, which aren't based on religion but colour of skin mostly. If someone from pakistan for example moves into a street in towns, whites often move out so you get the large communities of each nationale/race close together, and then it creates more problems. But that's for another day
