Psy-tech eh? Will have to give this a listen...

And while browsing, found the mix that goes along with this video.. This was the first time I saw Sons of Aurora play... (even if this is a Darvin Knorr mix thread hahah)

Motion Notion 2004...

Nice! I had not seen that before, and now it makes me miss the old Motion Notion festival site as that main stage structure was amazing... huge wooden beams. It felt like a throne! This was when Norris and I were tagging with Treavor Moontribe right at the end of his set.

I have nabbed this for a keepsake, Cheers!

Sounds like a fair trade mate... All your great mixes for one of my videos from 2004 with bad sound quality!...

I miss that old site as well, I've got some great memories dancing in front of that stage (this video being one).. That stage was EPIC. Much better than the steel framed one at the new site, even though the multi-color dome effect is cool.

Wow, I can't believe I have never read this thread. I bought Sea of Vapours in January, Jungle Weapon is one of the coolest tracks ever, I put it on my most recent mix. Definitely checking out your new set.

I received some feedback the other day that my mixes available here on Area709 are encoded as 128 kbs MP3's and that simply wasn't good enough. Fair enough!! I have gone back through my entire mix collection and re-uploaded them as 320kbs files. I encoded them on the slowest setting for the highest quality possible and as most of you know it makes a HUGE difference.

So... if you are so inclined you can now delete all those nasty 128 kps versions and nab the new ones. Being the sound junkies that most of you are, I am sure you will do just that.

Also I have posted up on my Facebook fan page (DJ Nokturnal) a bunch of video clips from past trips and events.

Take it easy my friends!!

Noosphere

Genre: Psytrance - Full On
Length: 1:13:59

Listen / Download Here: http://www.area709.com/darvin/music/mix/253/

Description:

As is my winter ritual I like to take a set from last summer and record it all nice and slick, ready for a serious session of kicking back with the headphones, or for enjoying as I head off on a drive to the ski hill to do some snowboarding. This mix is based upon the Sons of Aurora set from Motion Notion 2009, and while I was not sure how the set would translate to a recorded mix, I am very happy with the end result. I had to remove a bunch of tracks from the original set list as they have not yet been released, however I did not add any new tracks so it is still a fairly accurate representation of how it all went down live, minus quite a bit of knob twisting and the extra pair of hands and ears from Norris!

I want to send this one out to Jay and Kylee, as weeks later Jay relayed to me how they had journeyed in their tent to the sounds of this set coming to them through the trees from the main stage at Motion Notion.

As a side note, daybreak was around the 62 min mark on this mix as we played into sunrise early Sunday morning.

Welcome to music for the "sphere of human thought".

Track List:

Secret Weapon Intro
Moaiact - Iluso
Chromatone - eL eS Deep
Everblast - Ergot
Ace Ventura - The Spark - Ritmo Remix
Burn In Noise & Dickster - Induced
Narcophone - Odin Fury
Egorhythmia - Beat Execute
DJ Brainwave - Still Standing
Egorhythmia - Not Following Gravitation
Dreamed - Line
Aqualize - Land Of 2 Suns
M-Theory Ft Zen Mechanics - Ultrasonic

Thanks so much. "All These Things" is still one of my all time fav sets and I've been longing for a 320kbs version for the last 3 years.

Nokturnal Live At Vibrasphere 2010

Released: May 27, 2010
Genre: Progressive - Psytrance
Length: 1:19:57

Listen / Download Here: http://www.area709.com/darvin/music/mix/263/

Description:

A few months ago Rickard Berglof of Vibrasphere played a club night here in Calgary and Wes, Jay and I from Area709 came out to open and close the show. The place was packed from beginning to end and what started out as a mid-week club show ended up as a full-fledged party. You can head out for a dance and never know what the night will bring you, if you are lucky it will be a big night out, and this is exactly what the Area709 Vibrasphere show was. Thanks to Cary Chang for hosting the event at his club Habitat and making it all happen.

The mix was almost not usable due to the fact that I forgot to stop recording before I shut down my laptop which made the file unable to be readable by nearly every piece of software out there. Luckily I was able to open it using the VLC player... I tell you that piece of software is incredible. It's got a few very minor glitches to it as a result, but nothing major.

This mix is 100% Zenon material, with a few unreleased gems for the Zenon hard-cores to enjoy. It's a warm-up set that is a live recording from the Vibrasphere show, it turned out great and I am excited to share it will those who will enjoy it.

I hope this mix finds its way into your car or onto your ipod and shares some of the fun we had that night with all our friends here in Calgary.

Circuit Bent - Ambiently Speaking
Motive - Dusty Nostrils

Autonomech - Breath In
