my point exactly. People are too desensitized to stuff like that, and people putting up more of it only perpetuates the cycle.

who cares? not everyone wants to live in a bubble. people want to know (by watching videos, or whatever) whats going on in the world, whats the problem? no-ones making anyone watch something they dont want to watch. if people dont like watching the news cos its too fucked up then read the paper (though i dont really see the difference)

who's focusing? i watch the news and i see ppl killing eachother over a piece of land. im "focusing" on it? im adding to the violence? i thought i was just watching the news.

the good thing about the internet is that it gives you the option of seeing it: i personally did watch this, but i didn't watch the execution of hussein, for example because i thout it was unecessary to see. I wasn't forced to view it or anything, but i'm glad i could have if i'd wanted to... I like that i have all of the world's information available to myself, and then i can decide whether or not to use it

Man we had this discussion on TT and you have the same viewpoint as Scott.

I'm with the others. Ignoring things will not make them go away. It's all well and good to adopt the mentality that if everyone focuses on positive things then the world will be a better place, but I don't agree with this enlightenment bullshit perpetuated from the East. It's wishful thinking and call me a pessimist but I would rather people know what's happening and try and prevent it than ignore it and hope everyone magically switches to a positive mindset. It's not going to happen.

It's like "The Secret". Focus on having $10K in your account in one year and in one year you will have $10K in your account. Hah, yea right. Wishful thinking. Most things like this are a scam.
