^^^^ I agree plus if your all fucked up you might not be able to handle the situation. If I was in my normal state Id definitely take my shirt off to try and bandage up an arm or leg wound but its easy to say you would do something but it seemed most just wanted to flee. I would assume that a few nurses , medics may have been in that large crowd.

honestly, would you want to stick around and try to help someone if you KNOW there is a gun wielding maniac running around?

survival is primary instinct for most people

i know, its hard to say what i'd do in such a situation. You never know until it actually happens. I would think at very least his friends would be close by. Its just disgusting watching a guy lieing helpless (or even dead) while swarms of people are running every which way around him without looking twice.

despite the fact that guv gets so packed...at least the one good thing i can say is i always feel safe there. Thank god they do intense checks, plenty of security and cops near by. I remember watching that video where the club owner says they don't like how theres so many cops because it doesn't make it looks as pleasent to come into the area. that is extremely fucked up. holy shit. that club will never be the same. it will most likely be shut down/sold over the next year or 2 esp inside a club. one of the reasons phoenix in london got sold was because of a shooting in the parking lot area beside phoenix. that plus bad publicity really killed the club. i have a feeling that video may be taken off youtube soon

nah, there's no excuse for a overpacked club, ok security might make it safer because there will be no weapons, but fire is as if not more dangerous.

The guv has 5 different exits.

kool haus 7, two of which are massive garage doors that can be opened with the flick of a switch.

orange room has 4 exits.

the drink has 5 exits

really messed up... the way it starts as just another club video and ends with chaos makes it pretty scary... i'm all for stricter security in clubs, we all know the girls who do thorough patdowns are the most interesting anyways :P

I am so sorry about what has happened @ this event. RIP for those who died and a fast recovery for those who got hurt. It's sad to see this video, it's heart breaking.

its shitty to say but its nothing new for a south american club.... theres been a couple of gun fights in and out of the guv since it opened....the most recent last nye....2 guys shot each other up rite outside of the guv after getting into a fight inside.....its diffently a reality check for me to watch this vid......

I know what you mean, the college/young professional crowd of Top 40 clubs makes the drug dealers at the guv look like saints. Just because nobody has a gun on them means nothing can happen to you, right?

I've probably just never really noticed them, but the ones I do know of when I think about it, are the main entrance, and the one off the hallway to the Orange Room.

I've never really thought about it too much, how to exit a club fast, and knowing where all the exits are. I'm actually going to look for the exits when I go in a club now, who knows if something like this could happen, or even a fire. It's just something you don't think about very much until something happens.

That video was just horrible. I couldn't imagine/want to be in that position.. I don't think that video will be on youtube for much longer either once they realize what exactly is being shown.


It was gang related (Cox posted it on his site), but I still don't get why guns are necessary at any club or in an atmosphere that others are trying to enjoy themselves and have a good time. Take your shit elsewhere to deal with.

Interesting that Cox will continue on his South American tour, I understand "the show must go on" and that he's a total class guy, but personally I'd be a bit disenfranchised from playing party tunes for at least a few weeks.

I just checked his tour schedule and he has 10 more dates in South America until December. Wow. I guess he's kind of past the point of no return now...

I agree with you Jon, but I think with him saying in his statement that he will try his best to continue on with his S. American tour that it is almost giving him an exit if need be to cancel those 10 gigs.

I sure as hell as a DJ would not want to be playing in that country for awhile if it hit that close to home.
