I would suggest Spain, particularly the Canary Islands. I hear its paradise

Egypt or Turkey...Cheap, most of resorts are all inclusive and lots of history...;-)

but in reality, why not, I had a great time. It's very cheap to stay there, gas was like a dime per litre. Bottle service in a club was $25 for the bottle rhum.

Definitely don't do asia if you only have a week. I am planning my trip to Beijing, HK and the Thai islands in December and the logistics of it make such a trip out of the question for anything less than 2 weeks IMO. I would actually even say Greece is a bit of a stretch if you only have 1 week.

I'm not sure what the weather is like in southern Spain, but that's fairly accessible by cheap airfare (zoom, transat + a european discount carrier). South America would be great as well.

Actually they are not that bad (maybe around 60-70 euros per night), but i can go to the resort and find out.

Its getting a little chilly in Souther Spain at this point. We go there every other weekend for matches and warmer clothing is definitely necessary. The Canaries however are very warm. Its usually around 28 and sunny every day. The evenings get a little chillier but its a nice change!

There is a RIU if thats what you're looking for. You can rent a dune buggy and go to town on those dunes, they're huge!



Here is the main beach resort area called Playa Del Ingles where you'll find Pacha, Cream, Ministry of Sound, Etc

I woudln't recommend Greece either for a week, you won't do anything and will feel super rushed which is NOT the point of doing that type of holiday imo.

i'll be in Costa Rica for about 11 days and South America for about 3.5 weeks. I'm backpacking CR with a friend and South America with 2 other friends. there are a lot of tour groups that organize trips down there like GAP Adventures or Contiki but i've always liked doing the backpacking thing because of the freedom you get of going where you want and when you want.

anyways, should be good times! i'll remember to post some pics here during my journey ..

I've been hearing many good reviews of Vietnam

Greek islands were my all time favorite, but at the time of year I don't think it'll be warm. I was told they get snow around that time.

Rio, Brazil. Has to be the hands down the winner for what you want. I thought you mentioned caracas, isn't venezuela a testy place right now? would probably make for cheap accomodations though........

I'm off to switz to make a mockery of myself on the alps. yay

My next destination for sure. A close friend lived in Greece for 1 1/2 yrs..spent much time on the islands and it changed his views on what 'the good life' is.

Dec 8th or 9th... a friend wants me to go with her.


Sooooooooo... i dunno, never done the whole "warm getaway vacation" thing before...

my usual vacation would be like me flying down to NC to see and stay w/ friends down there for a week...

vs. like buy an all inclusive all you can eat and drink week long vacation in the warm south and shit.



SO...

my friend is doing all the research, told her id like go if it was cheap... if the costs are between $500-600.

So my question is, which she asked me...


Cube or Dominican???

I HAVE NO IDEA...

recommendations? experiences with either/or????
