interesting...i wonder how many NEW signups they get with each party...maybe it really does work for them so thats why they keep it up

altho i have yet to run into someone as contentious as the person you describe. hmm...defensive much?

Armin has indeed officially reached PVD and Tiesto status, of becoming too big to play in a club (at least in NYC)

Also remarkable that the weather didn't affect the turnout

the god pose says it all, doesnt it? lol

and since when has the weather ever affected turnout (well i mean, besides having blizzard storms and whatnot)...cmon im sure you remember standing in many a line during the colder months where the temp was below freezing haahha or when it was raining

Wow look at that tracklist, complete snorefest. I've always been a fan of Armin but seriously, wtf is he doing? Besides a couple tracks, everything else would put you to sleep.

Posted by danlaxx1 on Nov-10-2007 18:28:

That tracklist looks like this...

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I didn't go. Fuck Pacha. They suck.

their combined egos would probably destroy the space-time continuum.

damn u actually got me to laugh out loud twice in one thread...

had a good time, no idea why I set my alarm to 2... didn't want to sleep all day. +1 on what gmoney said about the VIP, ventured into the crowd a couple of times and immedaitely wanted to kill myself

def enjoyed the nite, can't really add much to what anyone else hasn't already said about pacha, etc. great seein everyone last nite too, if anythin, that made up for anything that lacked last nite.

That party was at Arc Novemeber 2003 for Danny Howells Bday when he absolutely tore the roof off that place. (My first time eating Danny Howells personal bday cake (a cake molded into a girls chest with two big breasts and candles coming out) in the VIP section. Ahh the memories. LOL.

i agree with this 100%.

tonight was a disaster and i am someone who is no longer loyal to made events. hopefully in the end this stunt will have cost them some money in the end. i should have heeded the advice of some people on this board.

but some things not in their control.. armins set was just wack. no real flow, PVD's set 2 weeks ago owned armins set tonight.

and its safe to say i despised about 73% of the idiots there last night... total douchebags... ive never been so close to pounding this one dude into the ground and believe me i am NOT someone who starts drama...

terrible vibe....

one song he spun was M6- Destination Six... it was th tune of the week during ASOT 322

Posted by Neo95gt on Nov-10-2007 19:35:

One of the best nights of my life, I didn't touch the dancefloor until like 4-5 though because it looked way too crowded. I was on the 2nd floor though and it was fine against the railing looking down and dancing.

Anyone stay around til the very end? What was the very last song he played?

Posted by Neo95gt on Nov-10-2007 19:37:

and i dunno what everyone is bitching about, christ you guys are babies

Yeah, we have standards... Oh how awful!

Posted by djquick83 on Nov-10-2007 19:45:

Guys, dont blame anybody for a crappy nite. I mean really, u went to an Armin party and he sucked. Hmmm, somehow the "I TOLD U GUYS HE WAS WACK" voice comes out once again. I mean sure, theres the whole Pacha sucks thing, but at least if the music is good then u can sort of tolerate it (like Carl Cox a few weeks back-despite shitty crowd musically it was the best nite out in maybe 3 yrs for me). DJing wise, AVB would have been wack whether it was at Pacha or at MSG with only the true hardcore AVB fans. But somehow, u guys seem to think his stuff is the shit cause he got famous and has a few gigs here and there, some CDs and his own ASOT show and is now some sort of Britney Spears icon of the trance scene. Like I said before, there are DJs right here on this board who could play way better than Armin and dont cost nearly as much to see (SSU and Coreevents).

Posted by rizo on Nov-10-2007 19:48:

Friend was there until likely 5:30AM and heres a txt msg he sent me that made me go

Armin show is slamming. But this club Pacha is the best I've ever been in!

Now he is a big AvB fan and has gone to Ibiza this past summer still though I don't believe Pacha in NYC is the best

Posted by kingchinc on Nov-10-2007 19:50:

TRANCE BOMBS from about 3:30 am and beyond

I dont mean MADE booking them, I mean u guys not wastin $50 to see AVB at Pacha and going to better events such as those mentioned above.

Posted by kingchinc on Nov-10-2007 19:57:

even though hit was crowded, I just love being on the floor with all that energy.

Also first time I saw 4 different fights break out in front of my eyes, all more hilarious than the next. These fights were great because it freed up more dancing space for me.

Also hearing "Lift" was really nice.

hahah def some crazy shit going down last night, so awesome. Except for the time some gay crackhead dude tried to take off my pants and blow me. Like some dude actually was molesting me and managed to get my belt off, he wouldnt stop so I punched him in the face and some bouncer kicked him out

LOL, u actually let him get as far as taking ure belt off ? He would have been decked the minute he touched me in that way man. I guess ure neurons were a few secs behind in processing what was going on that very minute. ROTFLLL J/K.

You know, @ first the night was awesome because I was digging Remy's set. I actually was really excited because he was opening. I haven't seen him since the last time he played @ spirit about 2 yrs ago. It's been a while. After Remy finished I bumped into marcello and he wasn't feelin Armin's set. @ first didn't think much about it. But as the night progressed, I just wasn't feeling the vibe either of what he was playing. It just seems lately that he plays stuff that doesn't have a vibe anymore. A bit boring. Not enough climax's like trance used to have. I guess it's not entirely armin's fault since this is type of production style that is fluiding the scene. So yeah I'd have to agree with senor Eco on the musical program of the night. Not up to par @ all!

As for the crowd, WTF!!!!!!! that place was fuckin packed. (Reminded me of the time Tiesto spun @ Avalon in 2003/2004) I was kinda kool about it because I definitly was expecting this. Him being #1 and all! Shit load of people will come to see him just because of that. Pacha over packing the place, is something that to me will never be regulated in a moderate manner. It's a business and all Venue is going to see is $$$$$$$$$$! As for the promoter though, they do whole a responsibility to make the experience as pleasent as possible for the consumers (Meaning Us Party People). But as for the price of the ticket, part of it could be that Armin could have raised his fee now that he's #1! IMO........

Over all I give it a 6 out of 10..........and that's me being a bit nice

McDonald's could obviously raise prices and make more money, because people will always go to McDonald's, but that's just not how it works... There's a certain line that's crossed that goes from "getting your money's worth" to "getting owned". You can't put Armin in Sullivan Room and charge 100$, and so on... It doesn't work that way.

yes it does....don't get me started on economics again. that mcdonalds analogy was horrible; if mcdonalds charged more money they would lose customers. there is always a point where price will force customers out. there are people far smarter than you and me that spend their entire lives trying to figure out the equilibrium of price and production.
