The reason I'm sharing this link is that the owner is such a nice guy I want to help the site in anyway I can. Anyway the link is http://redcurtainmovies.com Right now they have Bourne Ultimatum, Oceans Thirteen, Euro Trip and about 100 other movies (not all are that famous tho) Again sorry for the spam but I <3 that site, Greg |
body125z, did you keep your custom status misspelled on purpose, or did you just ignore the comments made on it? Sorry all, but it's time he sees what an ass he is
Pissing OFF people. Pissing of people is something very different, and very weird.
Great interview Sam... thanks for the read
Many Thanks for the interview!
Funny to read that big tracks are influenced by his girlfriend. I thought this guy was rocking out loud! http://img.tranceaddict.com/images/icons/icon14.gif

although i think he is one of, if the not the best producer over the last 2 years, prydz was an absolute prick when i saw him here in ireland. in fairness, his set was good...decent tune selection, technically sound etc....but he was in a foul humour!!!
it was at hi:fi dance festival and an awful lot of people who really loved his productions turned up to see him, hoping that his live act lived up to the tunes he produced. well to say that he was moody would be an understatement. for the whole 2 hours or whatever it was, he just kept his head as far down as possible...he was practically chewing the fader his head was so low, he avoided even the slightest bit of eye contact with the crowd, he didnt respond to any of the numerous chants of his name, of his tracks etc, which at some stages were louder than the music. my mate actually customised his t-shirt for this set...all weekend he was wearing a t-shirt with Prydz's name all over the back and on the front he had 'Spooks??? Please Please Please!!!' on it. We were at the front of the relatively small tent for the whole gig and my mate kept trying to get his attention. We were literally 2 feet away from him and he ignored every single one of us. At one stage, my mate got up on someone's shoulders so that Prydz would be staring directly at the 'Spooks' request on the t-shirt.....Prydz looked at the t-shirt and then just stared at his mixer again!!! Towards the end of the set, and the end of a long, fairly rough weekend, my mate gave one more attempt at getting the tune he wanted to hear all weekend played...he took the t-shirt off and throw it up behind Prydz. Prydz looked around at it and just continued on.
Needless to say, his attitude didnt go down too well. The tent rapidly emptied as people got fed up at watching someone who had absolutely no desire to be there. We stayed to the end anyway cos the music was decent, but I really was shocked by the way he went on. I just felt like saying to him 'Eric smile, it wont hurt, I promise'
Purely from this experience and from all of the interviews/articles etc that I have read on him, he does come across as a being fairly up his own arse but I dont know him personally, so I cant really back that up. I love his productions, I think he has been rattling the tracks out with a consistancy that very few can rival however the thing that does annoy me though is when artists/djs like this think that they are bigger than the music. Dance music was created for people to have a good time, sometimes I think Prydz takes himself far too seriously.
By the way, fair play for getting the interview.
not trying to defend him or anything but have you looked at his schedule? eventually he will have a night where he is not in the best mood. and the whole request thing is hard, i mean i can't remember how many times i yelled ironman last night so he'd play it but i mean he is the dj, not us so there you go.

@ paulc,
Go see Digweed play. The man never has any emotion. Sometimes that's the way it is. It does not mean he is a bad DJ. It probably means he is all business. I just saw Prydz play this weekend... he was not incredibly animated but laid down a killer set.

No, Diggers is just a really, really shy guy. Everyone knows that. he's very timid and humble it's been said on reviews and by people that know him over and over again. Yet the guy is brilliant behind the decks, just 'cuz he doesn't pull the "Hesus" it has no affect over his tremendous ability whatsoever. I don't know if that's how Prydz is though..

| Originally posted by djpaulc you have basically summed up what I have been trying to explain in my previous posts. 'humble' is the word i was looking for. diggers is shy and reserved yet everytime i have seen him, he does look like he is enjoying the gig...he is very appreciative of the crowd in his own 'humble' way. prydz was different. it seemed to me and to many others, that he had a bit of a superiority attitude about him...that he was too good to be playing there, that he should have been in the main arena etc....he just had no time for anyone that night. he had the attitude of a big name dj playing a gig where no-one turns up, one where he couldnt wait to get his money and go. i seem to be giving prydz a fair aul bashing here which is unfair really cos ive only ever seen him once. maybe it was a once off, who knows |

I meant in front of a crowd, sorry for not making that clear.
While you DID catch him on an off night, I have an answer to most of his events. Eric is a very focused guy. If you talk to him you IMMEDIATELY get the sense that he is uber friendly, and RIDICULOUSLY intelligent, but what really describes him is focused. When he is playing, he doesn't look at ANYONE. It doesn't matter what he is doing in the booth, he pays attention to noone. When I was in the booth with him friday, even Dana Bergqvist had to scream at him several times to get his attention, and he was standing beside him. He focuses completely on his set.
However, as soon as his set is done, if you catch him on the way out, he is by far one of the coolest people you will ever meet. I've seen him actually give the rest of his Jack Daniels to people who have Pryda shirts on. He tries to say hello to everyone he can while making his way to where he is going.
My only request to you PaulC is that you catch him again. If you are lucky enough to be at the front when he finishes, get his attention. Chances are you'll have a completely reverse experience than your last time.
