Yep, and that type of response is exactly why you are right. I rest my case.

Posted by Ry Thomas on Nov-14-2007 19:39:

I think your being overly pathetic there fella and getting yourself worked up over nothing

Posted by Storyteller on Nov-14-2007 22:04:

Now that's exactly what I was thinking. Too bad English isn't my primary language otherwise I maybe could have said it half as well .

you know you guys have alot of time to flame to be such pro's. there are 3 pages of non stop insults. some community. i was just looking for someone who wanted to duo up. Im not looking for flames or advice. So sit on a thumbtack next time you wanna scare people off and take what you claim to be a "stupid" question straight to the heart. Zealous is not the same word as knowledgeable

Apologize to Fl, then your off the hook

Posted by djeternal on Nov-17-2007 03:22:

so be it...i apologize to all Fl users and FL itself, you guys took me so wrong...when i said it "sucks", i meant that i dont adapt to it well...it doesnt flow with my creativity.
ALso, now this u can flame all you want, but i think whenever i apply any FL programmed FX or EQ, it sucks the life out of the instrument.

Oh and to teh guy who asked why i would wanan master my own tracks....well its because thats what im going to school for, and FL isnt a course! Im only in my first year. Learning on a mackie board with a patchbay and FX machines is completely different from FL. Get it now? I work 2 jobs along with school...just to stay off the streets...so forgive me if i dont shell out everything i have for gear...id rathe rproduce in my room than in an alley. Im working with a sound blaster audigy...a fucken gaming card!...and my monitors are stereo headphones.

So here is the track im working on...since u guys asked! Oh and its unmastered of course! 27 seconds is all u guys get.

id like to thank the guys who stayed positive in this thread.

Take care every1!!!

You say that FLStudio doesn't fit with your creativity paradigm... that's fair enough by my standards. No apologies were necessary since everyone is entitled to an opinion, nonetheless.

I could say, "why didn't you say so", but the point is probably moot.

I will apologize for my tone when I questioned your mastering motivations. There are a few gray areas that I still am a little bamboozled about, but I cannot blame someone who hasn't got access to a proper listening environment. Again, I don't think that one should master one's own tracks, but that's merely something I read from time to time... your the mastering student and I'm just a bedroom amatuer who likes to read.

Your audio clip that you posted has either been mixed at too high a volume, or your pre-master strapped a compressor over the master bus. Shouldn't your mixdowns retain their dynamic enclosure below something like -1, or -3db, or am I just misinformed?

Palm, I have a reason CD sitting around here. I'll adapt, you gotta help me get my bearings on it though. I'll do my own reading on reason and such, but i am gonna need some help from ya. Im a quick learner and i know what i need to ask. Get back to me. thx!

B_man, im pretty sure you got a point there, i think its safe to say we are both students in our own way. But I did put a compressor on the master. I originally mixed it down to -1db, but i just wanted to hear it loud. The song is far from finished. But i like your style..good ear. take care man.

I believe what we are witnessing here is the first ever delay-plugin for forum-board effects. Genius! I wonder how the TA wizards are going to simulate other effects like reverb.

Posted by kitphillips on Nov-18-2007 07:04:

Well, given that a reverb is a series of delays with a very short feedback, I don't know that I want to see that

Seriously tho, palm, everyone is REALLY keen on working with you

The funniest part is, I only meant to post it once lol.

Coincidence!

Well you are only on your first year.

It took me 4-5 years to get the sound I like. And even that it sucked compared to everyone else. Theres to much to learn in one year, just keep with the prog

How much time did you put in though?

I did producing as a small hobby, could only dedicate so much time. But if I had more time, I bet I would of gotten better results in a shorter time.

balancing with uni and work i put in whatever free time i got during the week but at the weekends i partied. on average about 10 hours per week.
