Originally posted by noikeee yep. it's basically a completely forgettable track about nothing, certainly doesn't deserve at all to be getting big sales, but still.. i'd much rather listen to this dullness than listen to Filo & Peri - The Anthem or stuff like that.

Originally posted by RJT The difference is that shit or not, the Anthem is actually a complete song. All of Dubfire's efforts sound like he made it halfway and said "Meh - Ritchie will sell it for me."

Originally posted by bobba lou It's all related. The crap will sell on its own. Since Ali is well established in EDM, this helps for M_nus to be exposed to a new audience, and in return Ali gets a new outlet for his "new sound" Props to Ali's (and his producer) and M_nus label management for a wise business decision? How long will they milk this cash cow for? who knows. It's to the point where musical integrity has been long forgotten. Seems like now it's all about pushing those numbers with mediocre, soulless, uninspired material.
in the other thread I was voicing my displeasure with 'roadkill' but I must say those two recent mixes out on toolroom are pretty cool.
as for this song, i don't see what's THAT bad about it. It's tough for me to hate a song when the song I listened to before it was Robbie Rivera's remix of The Fray - How to Save a Life. tech house is the hot thing now and there are going to be lots of mediocore releases trying to imitate a style, this is one of the many. It just happens to be made by producer who became huge for a totally different style of music.
It's like he's trying to make kind of a bodzin type song. They aren't the most imaginative pieces of music out there but I kind of like the basslines in this and roadkill. good for mixing, but yeah i wouldn't want to listen to 8 straight minutes. Or M_nutes in this case
I thought Roadkill was kinda cool, but this is track is really odd. I just listened to the beatport sample and wonder if there is anything happening in the track at all?
I guess to understand that track you have to be a minimal bandwagon whore

Only listened to the 1 minute sample on Juno, but it sounds quite nice to me... this is the sort of M_Nus i love
Shouldn't be thought of as a single track more as a tool used with other songs, same goes for stuff from guys like JPLS.

Originally posted by Sykonee Actually, the running argument for tracks like these is something like this: "It isn't meant to be a song; it's more like a DJ tool, to be used by DJs in their sets. You just have to hear it on a loud sound system to truly appreciate how awesome this track is!"

listening to Efdemin's RA podcast again, this track reminds me of an imitation of the Villalobos / Blood On My Hands remix
edit: eh maybe a little bit. that acid line in blood on my hands is unmistakeable
its techno..
repetitive filler track.
every track doesnt have to be a epic break down song.

Welcome to techno. It might be very repetitive (and sometimes dull).
As a techno guy, I can't say I'm very offended by this track...
its just techno... not really my cup of tea but its not bad either.
and RJT, if you think you can make this in half an hour, i wish u the best of luck... you deffo seem to underestimate the experience and skills it needs to create such powerful sounding productions as dubfire.. simple and minimal but a full sound.
