Checked out their myspace page.

They got Josh Wink, Desyn, Sultan and others on the friend list. Hopefully we see them there.

Hmm well if the Myspace friends list is any indication I can see myself spending a lot of time here. Book Loco Dice please! =P

Looks like it's somewhat inspired by Cocoon.

ps. where is the dance floor?

Posted by Dj Vicci on Nov-26-2007 23:30:

dancefloor is on the first floor in the back you cant see it well from the plans but all i have to say is the club looks 10x times nicer in real life then in the drawings and sound system and lights will be crazy!

Looking forward to this venue; I'm a big fan of the 10-3 timeslot for partying.

BTW, please offer some type of drink special, even if it's something god-awful like $5-6 coronas. The only economical way for a raging alcoholic like me and my friends to party in this city is to get a bottle, which is fine on weekends but not really feasible with work the following day. The whole $8+ dollar minimum for a decent drink just ends up making the club lose money from me, as I end up heavily pre-drinking and then riding the buzz out for the rest of the night. I'd way rather drink at the bar, but with stupid prices I refuse to.

Have one decently priced beer in addition to decently priced bottles, and I will come here and spend a lot of my money.

im a big fan of the 10-6 night out.

if clubs closed at 6 id barely ever go to afterhours (unless there was a spectacular booking)

i hate every club in this whole city for that rule alone! especially the ones who make everyone leave by like 3:05

true, but the only reason that comes to my mind is that since they can't sell alcohol after that time theres no point in staying open, their not making money, and they don't care about you and I

two of the biggest fuckups in montreals club industry

clubs not respecting their clients and booze ending at 3

ahh in a perfect world....

Posted by Sean Walsh on Nov-27-2007 05:13:

Well ya, coming back from Europe I can obviously agree. Noxx in Antwerp was open 11pm - 7am, absolutely perfect IMO since it allows you to hit a bar beforehand, and then head there to party til morning while still drinking. I'd rarely bother going to an afterhours if we could have those hours here, but alas.

Back to the topic at hand though, drink specials please =P

u cannot keep a club open after three and thats not the clubs rules its the government,
go complain to them if u want like half the rest of the club owners r doing, and maybe then u will have ur perfect world.
thats why afterhours started in the first place !!

i never said that was the clubs fault

i just said it sucked

i can see how you thought i meant that clubs kicking people out right at 3 = them not treating clients with respect.. i meant that they sucked, but separately

Posted by Sean Walsh on Nov-27-2007 16:09:

Heh obviously it's not the clubs' fault; I'd blow a lot more money if I could get served after 3 though, so maybe it's for the best =P

Posted by samdafroman on Nov-27-2007 16:15:

Well there is somewhat of a case going on right now about loss of revenue due to the smoking laws. They are arguing about keeping the clubs open for another hour because most bars have lost up to 30% of their revenues because of the smoking ban.
Another point that they are arguing is to not let wasted people out on the streets right after the last call and keep the clubs open a few more hours so they can sober up before they head out.
u wanna make a difference? don't bitch on T.A. cuz noones gonna hear you,
go do some research if your that into it and make your voice heard

Posted by Sean Walsh on Nov-27-2007 16:27:

This is exactly what they did in Vancouver, but ended up scaling it back until 3am on weekends only. Granted Vancouver's party scene is nowhere near Montreal's, so it might work here, but clubs didn't feel like paying their staff for an extra hour when they weren't even allowed to serve.

Posted by Vermz on Nov-27-2007 17:21:

it is more complicated than you think to add 2-3 extra hours for a club
first, you can't do anything vs the laws
it's not profitable at all for the club because a lot of people stop drinking alcohol at 2h00 so you will see water bottle price raising up to 8-9$
it's not just about respecting the clients
the clients have to respect the staff too
this is not an afterhours
when the lights open at 3, the staff wants to get the fuck out of there as soon as possible, they got a life
if the place close at 5 am, it means a lot of them will have to leave between 7 and 8
which is ridiculous

some smoking ban ...
you leave tribe smelling like an ashtray anyways

if people know they have until later, they party differently and their drinking patterns follow suit.

for example when i used to go out in peru you dont even show up at the club until 1 or 2 and its alchohol all night, and this is at upscale clubs with similar styles to somewhere like tribe or house-

behaviour will change for sure, but I am not sure that people will have magically more money to spend on overpriced drinks.

Posted by Vermz on Nov-28-2007 02:54:

ouais
si le monde boit pu c'est pas pcq'ils veulent pu boire et qu'ils conduisent tous
c'est parce que leurs bouteilles sont vides
et si tu bois aux drinks
a 8$ le drink ils vont en boire 1 a l'heure ?

That's the thing. It's like clubs decided to up drink prices by $2 per just because people stopped smoking or some shit. I would actually spend much more money if I could get away with having a decent drink for $6 after a tip than $8 minimum; the latter just irritates me for how much they're trying to gouge and I get fed up after a couple.

Honestly the only way to get a decent amount of alcohol is to buy a bottle, which is pretty sad. I remember the days 6-7 years ago when I thought a bottle was a complete rip off, as I could get a good 40 shooters for $140-160 max if I wanted to be idiotic. Now, bottle service is basically the only way to go if you want to have a resonable amount of alcohol at the bar.

champagne glasses for you and your girlfriend...50$ before tip
lol
now the normal feminine cocktails like martinis and so on are 20$ at Wunderbar
retarded
in few years we will need more then one 20$ bill to buy a cheap rhum&coke
