John Digweed's Bedrock compilation from 2000(?) is the definition of that feeling.

Together is good. Sound of Sunday is meh.

Pretty sure I've heard couple of other tunes by Hahmo, but they sounded more trance than house

Together is awesome... Another great Hahmo tune is his remix of Suffering Island by David West(?)

I love this stuff...which is why I always catch Luke when he's in town. There's nothing like those soothing groovy melodies <3

Well, I am note sure why this thread took such a weird direction, but I know exactly what are you talking about, EvilTree. I just recently found myself loving progressive funky stuff. Some of my new fav sets are from Luke Morrison, Tom Morgan, Dj Fontaine, and yes Luke Fair. I got most of these from bringthebeats website - it's the sound they support, and I love it. I used to listen to trance; then, switched to electro and tribal, and now prog is my new favourite sound. So for me it's a great mix of my fav somewhat trancy house. And, I hear more Djs throw in proggy tunes in their sets these days ;-)

came close a few years ago with kosmas epsilon, luke chable, and matt dekay but everyone got sick of it pretty quickly.

why is everyone jumping on this bandwagon lately? all of a sudden anyone who starts talking about genres and sounds get ridiculed. sorry to say it but defining sounds and genres are necessary and tunes are not tunes, but good tunes are good tunes. genre doesnt determine whether or not a track is good or bad but people now seem to think that talking about genres is irrelevant but its not.

Very trancey with happy vibe. In some cases, it's pretty much trance at 130bpm.

I don't think this will become extremely popular, but seems to attract both prog house and trancers. I know I'm attracted to to this stuff because well, it's got more trance elements than a lot of trance tunes these days. And it's bouncy, happy and fun.

What do you guys think of it?

I like it a lot...ditto for what I'll call uplifting breaks, lol. A really good example is the Hybrid mix of R.E.M. "The Great Beyond".

IIRC, Hugg & Pepp (John and Jesper Dahlback) produce/remix some good minimally, proggy trance/house stuff...not 130bpm, more chill, from what I recall, but haven't listened to newer stuff they've done.

I like that the lines continue to blur....as I find typical trance to be pretty crappy these days, but still like elements of uplifting trance mixed in with other genres.

hell, even G&D's stuff qualifies, IMHO, like Dangerous Power. definitely has trance elements, but not really "trance".

Love it, pretty much all I listen to while at home.

I highly recommend Fine Taste (plus their Chunk & Twist alias) and Jaytech for this genre.

I like it, it got me away from just playing crunchy electro love the deadmau5 and 16 bit stuff most

Ditto! And I agree, Desyn has definitely been moving towards a lot crunchier, heavier music... I'm still in total awe of the FBI 945 radio set from 2 years ago, though. I've definitely heard one or two Low End Specialists sets that fall into this genre from a few years, and Demi has happy, funky moments, too. I think the problem for a lot of people is that it's too dreamy--not really something you can jump up and down and pump your fists to (most of the time). And Luke Fair is da shit--the Sweetchilli sets he has on his website as promo downloads are in-fucking-credible.
