Taj and PvD... well maybe not PvD as he doesnt drop any sort of disco but he does go into breaks/techno/house but not as underground as Gainer I'm sure. I think thats why I go to 1015 every Saturday for Taj as he always keeps it different and fresh. And PvD has so many tracks to choose from on Ableton

agree on Taj (minus the DnB part)...

but disagree on pvd... (only my opinion)

There were still about 500 people on the dancefloor DANCING at 6:30AM, that should say something about the set. Also, NO WASHING MACHINES!! That almost always means there is a good DJ in the house.

Great to see all (well, most) of the TA's having a great time!

@ PvD being as diverse as Garnier...

Posted by rizo on Nov-20-2007 04:24:

Didn't say PvD is as diverse as Garnier, but he does go into other genres more than other trance headliners. Was really surprised a friend liked him when we saw him in Central Park as hes more of a breaks person. A lot people don't like his style cause he doesnt go full on trance as one would expect esp since hes labeled as trance DJ

They're just completely incomparable imo.

Agree.

The only thing they have in common is they both make their living in the music industry.

Either you like Garnier or you don't. He does seem to be one of those "let me show off my record collection" dj's. I have a earlier set of his where he goes off on a punk rock circa 1977 tangent. Listening to it at home is cool but if I was at a club I would probably give it a WTF?? reaction.

Wish I was there to experience Garnier in person. To see him in Paris would be a really be a treat.

Oh wow! No words can really describe Saturday night. Simply Amazing! I never really seen a Dj go from a wide range of genres with ease! He hardly hardly missed a beat! I danced so much! Sarah and I closed Avalon out a little after 8am! I think he would have kept going if the staff did not want to go home!

WOW!

Damn thats a damn good memory

when did he play Acid Eiffel?!?!

I can't believe i missed that because I was waiting for him to play that song all night. we stumbled out at about 6AM did he play it after that?

ugh.sdafj sadjfl;sadfk

anyway. fucking incredible night. absolutely amazing set. one of the best i have ever heard my entire life. I really love and appreciate a DJ who can go all over the place with different styles and make it sound so good. every song he played was amazing and they transitioned so well. i was sooooo tired at teh beginging of the night but i ended up dancing my ass off all night long. when he played "man with the red face" i was secretly hoping that was the last track just cuz i was so tired. then he came on the mic and began with the drum 'n bass and i was going nuts again.

i was getting giddy like a little girl later on when he was playing all the old 90's tracks.

ah incredible night. i don't really have the words to describe how much i enjoyed his set. he's also such a show boat up there dancing around.

I have been hyping Laurent Garnier up to Jeffree, Steve and my friend Ryan who came with since i had seen him for the first time with Clovis in Paris. Laurent more than lived up to the hype

It was awesome seeing everyone again! Bas, Clovis, Tigo, Julia, Sarah, Michelle, Chris and everyone else I forgot to mention. I was so happy to be back in LA at a show and to see the fellow LATA's. I really wish i could have been in town longer.

Montie: Great to see you, and out there in the crowd too..
It makes the night even more complete to hear stories from everywhere I might have missed...

Makes me wish I could party a little more.

Yes, no doubt, best dj ive heard in my whole life.. even the mixer tricks with the fades and volume up and down real fast.. sounded amazing... only a legend can pull off a night like that.. he jumped on the mic.."you guys are a fucking wicked crowd"

or... (with The Doors track 'Break on Thru' underlay) "I KNOW Los Angeles loves The Doors... (he the repeats with more energy) I KNOW LOS ANGELES LOVES THE DOORS!!!"

Awesome Energy. Awesome night.

Now I know I should've gone...

Last big DJ I heard drop YOU USED TO HOLD ME & BIG FUN was DIGWEED at the Mayan years ago. That night was the day I really loved Digweed's music. CAN YOU FEEL IT? WOW... I haven't heard that song LIVE in years. Definitely songs I grew up with.

too bad garnier isn't more like guetta, that way anytime he came to town you'd already know what he's going to play in advance so bas & co could leave the pencils at home
