I'm a huge huge guetta fan but I have to admit...the guy totally plays the same songs everytime he performs...I saw him at WMC and in dc 2 wks prior...his set in dc was totally identical to his miami set...and i saw him at space - cameo - ultra...the guy played a great chunk of the same songs at all three events ina amtter of 4 days...RHCP, Blur, and his own productions...

don't get me wrong...im going up to see him at cielo but at what point does he decide to play less of the old songs bc it does get old...especially during wmc...i thought hed play new shit or different sets, instead it was the same set at all three events

despite this the guy knows how to play around with a crowd and get them enjoying the music so hes fun to see live...but for his hardcore fans hes very predictable as a dj when it coems to song selection...ill let you guys know what he played at cielo too

i can't count how many times i've thought that. why in the world would you play old ass played out tracks when you have access to the best tunes no one has heard yet. i just lose total respect for DJs that do this crap.

I guess only Americans poke fun at simpletons that are easily amused by shiny things. I love blanket statements.

Ya, and so did the closer Allen S. And so does every other Ibiza DJ.

Reminded me of my mornings at Space. They do this one thing every morning where they all kneel to the ground, stand up and go crazy once the clock hits 10 AM.

I woulda loved to hear it

Thing is djs dont go around simply djing many times (if they are producers also) they tour for their new cd. So in a way, it should be expected to have songs songs from half a year ago for those who havnt had the chance to see the act yet. I hadnt seen Guetta this year and loved hearing the tracks from the new cd.

Many of the DJ's play same tracks because they know they work. They have been tested in other cities. Both Sinclar and Guetta played their number 1 songs in unique ways.

Guetta did play many tracks I've heard before, but I like hearing songs I've heard before. I also find it easier to dance to a song when you know where its going.

Last year I went to 3 In Search of Sunrise 5 tour dates. He played most of the tracks on the CD, but in between he was unpredictable. (Except for Lethal Industry of course).

As noted above, DJ energy and crowd interaction is a major plus!

there is nothing I hate more then going to a show/concert, and the band not playing their old hit, because they have a new album out.

For instance U2 Concert. U2 came out with a new album, and started to tour... they play their new stuff... HOWEVER they also play the stuff that got them there. They play the stuff that is proven to work.

On the other hand I have also been to a Bruce Sprinstein Concert, and he only played one of his old hits, as his last song when he was touring with his most recent album... and it pissed off the whole crowd.

Play your new stuff sure... BUT ALWAYS PLAY WHAT GOT YOU THERE!!!

It was only Guetta's second time playing in LA. The night also broke a bar record for Vanguard!
