Guys aren't really known to be "shoppers".
You guys bitch and complain on a normal weekend so I can imagine why you are upset @ Black Friday.
I love shopping. Nothing really pisses me off because I know this time of the year is crazy.
I love the thrill of going shopping for close friends and family. If I wasn't getting paid this coming Monday, you bet your ass I'll be up early going shopping! Or sometimes I just wait till after X-mas because things go waaaay down in price.
Either way.. you got internet anger issues lol.

Originally posted by Frenchie SO then what's your problem? You don't participate in it so really it's not your issue at all. Why are you mad at the people who do it? What did they do to you? All they are doing is getting the more bang for their buck. You could learn something from them, you know. EDIT: It's like defensive driving, only for shopping. If you can survive that you can survive shopping all year long.

Black Friday pays my salary and bonus. I don't see why I should hate it.

Well I'm not spending even a single $$ this Friday.
HAHA! No, I think you missed the point. Read your posts over again, you're getting angry and not in the "I feel bad for people" way. You're angry, for no reason. Maybe you're upset because that item you bought last week, will now be 60% less, who knows. It's not an "event" or some "emotional out" it's fuckin' shopping for the holidays( more ro less). I'd much rather shop on a day like that for cheaper deals when I have a lot of people to shop for rather than wait on a normal week-end and spend grands more. What makes you think people are going to prance around with their items and rub it in peoples faces that they spent omgsomuchless?

Originally posted by emc^2 dunno... if my washer broke, I wouldn't wait a year to replace it. When my dryer broke... I went to sears, bought some parts and fixed the damn thing myself. Of course, Whirlpool would have me believe that I ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE their latest and greatest "SUPER CUM WASHINATOR, SH!T DE-STAINER, PUKE DEODORIZING WASHER/DRYER COMBO WITH HIGH-SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION TO TELL YOU WHEN YOUR BOXER LINT HAS CLOGGED UP ITS DELICATE VENTS OR YOUR WATER HAS RUSTED THROUGH IT'S RUST-PROOF, TEFLON PLUTONIUM ALLOY PIPES. DID WE MENTION IT'S AVAILABLE IN GORGEOUS RED ASSBERRY OR COOL BLUE PEN0R HEAD COLORS?"... but I didn't bite and just fixed the damn thing. And my man pride is better for it, not to mention my wallet is not doing too shabby either.

Im glad I dont participate in these shopping holidays....it takes off so much stress for the end of the year and Im not broke as fuck.
I was being sarcastic on the .99 cent store sale but damn...
for a white boy, you be angry like a terrorist when his bomb dont go off
and he dont get his 72 virgins!
Wouldn't it make more sense to call it Red Friday instead of White Friday? Since the reason they call it Black Friday is because this is traditionally the day that shopping season begins and retailers move from red (loss) to black (profit).

Originally posted by Ygrene Gee I never thought about it that way. We build about 20,000 washers/day based on demand. So yeah, I'm going to guess that there are probably one or two people who will need a washer & dryer and would like that deal.

Good story. We don't have any of those features on any of our models. You must be thinking of a different brand.

Originally posted by emc^2 You work for Whirlpool? Dude, can you hook me up with some deals? Looks like I might need a washer/dryer after all - are you available this friday?

Originally posted by Ygrene If you want a deal then you should go to Best Buy on Friday! They've also got a top-load pair for $499. Besides, my discount is reserved for myself and immediate family and the purchase program has already received a fair share of abuse earlier in the year. I have no desire to test my employer's limits.

I would have to agree with OP here. People that go out of their way to get those "door buster" deals are suckers. I saw a couple of things that I wanted on circuit city black friday ad and noticed some really kick ass prices. Then I realized that the items were made by some shitty off brand.

Originally posted by emc^2 seriously, has anyone found really amazing deals in the store that couldn't be found online? I'm sure the store is not selling crap at loss... or if they do - it's usually the crap they just can't get rid of otherwise. So they lube you up, you take the bait and SUCK IT. Nearly everything I've seen in the adds, could be purchased somewhere else online for comprable price (esp. after you factor in the taxes, etc.). dunno. IMHO Black Friday is for suckers.

Black Friday works on the basis of stores luring in customers with highly discounted items in hopes that the customer will buy other products aka early christmas shopping etc. |
