i never shop there. of course it doesnt help that there isnt one near either but even if there was id go to target before walmart. i actually work at target right now for seasonal as a second job.

I try my hardest not to even step foot in the parking lot of one simply out of principle. I'll give credit to the Wal-Mart in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. I had to visit it on my trip up there in June to see some relatives and it was the single best Wal-Mart I'd ever been in. It was actually clean and the employees were all very respectable both in looks and conduct.

I still refused to purchase anything. I'll give it points for cleanliness but I'm damn sure it has all of the shady policies as the rest of them.

i've been to target 3 times in my life (LA, Atlanta and just outside of Manhattan)

I've been to walmart 4 times (once in philly, and 3 times in the tampa area)

I tend to remember every time I go since I rarely hit these chains

Walmart is good 'cause it helps Chinese slave workers a chance to make their extremely low wages. It's also good too since many companies based in the US get to branch out to China, again to help employ the low income slave labourers. Why give the jobs to Americans when someone else can do it for 1/10th the wage. Which brings up another point. Unions are extremely powerful and demand high wages for their members. They pump into their "brothers" how they must back the union and promote their cause and ensure they work with other unions as one big happy family. "Union made in America"! Unfortunately those same union workers flock to places like Walmart where they can enjoy the low prices of the low-income, non-union Chinese workers provide! Pretty two-faced I think.

I have to drive by the SUPER WAL-MART they built here recently and there is never a day or time that I go pass it that the parking lot is not full. 7:00am, full...10:00pm, full. People love their wal-mart.

Posted by justin on Nov-24-2007 20:20:

just buy food from wal mart... they lose money that way. don't buy anything else there except your groceries.

Posted by MeLLyMeL on Nov-24-2007 20:30:

There are 2 Super Wal Marts all 10 mins within my house in Miami.

That is one thing I miss very much. THere is no way in hell Wal Mart will be in New York because of all the mom & pop shops here.

I guess being raised in a place where there are nothing but corporations around .. you tend to miss them. Miami has nooo mom & pop shops. The closest Wal Mart to me in New York is 45 mins away. -tear-

Super WalMarts are fuking awesome. The only place where you can buy last min gifts and balloons and fresh flowers at 5 am coming home from a club and right on time for Mothers Day.

I'm all for anything that gets rid of the ma and pa shops.....bring on the big, lower price, we well everything stores so I can spend less time doing crap I don't want to do.

Posted by Frenchie on Nov-24-2007 20:39:

in small towns where one wal mart can pretty much cater to the needs of the entire population.. is just sad. no music stores, lack of conveniently located stores jsu sad.

Posted by justin on Nov-24-2007 20:51:

did you know that walmarts florida stores have 12500 of its employees on public assistance of some sort?

seriously that video that tigerclaw posted talks about how most walmart employees are on public assistance due to the low wage and exorbitantly expensive healthcare. walmart employees pay almost as much as i did for healthcare and dental when i had a full on PPO! that was $210/month. walmart healthcare is $150/month for ONE person!

there were a lot of things in that video i had no clue about. was an interesting one. didnt realize it was so bad. i hate walmart even more. i would really recommend that video.

I think I've actually stolen more things from wal mart than anywhere else.

Posted by Rose on Nov-24-2007 21:01:

Walmart is FTW. I just wish it wasn't so crowded all the time.

well considering the fact that walmart decimates business in any city or town, why would you want walmart in your town? i know i try to support the small shops as much as possible.

I umm really don't like mom and pop shops. They all look dirty to me here in NY.

I also don't like the fact that if I want something to eat there are hardly any known places to eat in the city that isn't baller status. [different topic]

If the ppl weren't working at Wal Mart then where would they be working?? It give opportunities for ppl to have plenty o jobs. 24 hours ftw.

When I was in highschool there was nothing like going to Wal Mart high as fuk. It was fun!!

Correct. I miss the superwalmart at college because I would go grocery shopping Sunday nights at 3 am. Nobody was there, no line, and I would sometimes get new release DVDs on Monday nights 12am.
