its like our pirate day... the more afflunet males in tampa (doctors and lawyers etc..) are part of this thing called the ye mystic crew of gasparilla and on like the first saturday of february they dress up as pirates and get into a pirate ship and sail down the bay... (we actually have a pirate ship docked near downtown year round)..
they disembark and then a parade busts out... a zillion floats go down the bayshore and near 500,000 of your drunkest friends are there to enjoy it with you... open container law is kind of looked the other way by cops on this day and if you dont black out by sun down then you didnt drink enough...
you walk near 10 miles but in your backpack you are constantly pounding your natty light or if you want to do the camel back thing with vodka by all means...
many boobies are shown (typically more for the night gasparilla which is 2 weeks later though) and more beads than mardi gras are thrown out..
edit: dont use your plane ticket for this... just drive down..

SUBJECT TO TERMS:
* GOOD FOR ONE FREE COACH ROUNDTRIOP TICKET IN W CLASS / ***SEATS ARE LIMITED***
* TRAVEL PERMITTED WITHIN THE 48 CONTIGOUS US/ALASKSA OR BETWEEN 48 YS/ALASKA AND CANADA
* VALID ON NW/KL DESIGNATED FLIGHTS OPERATED BY NW/KL/XJ/9E/CP/CO/CO EXPRESS
more on the back talk about if W is not available, class A & D can work...stil coach class, tho.
i got one of these before, when i was fucked in memphis last time, and i was able to go from gulfport, ms to des moines, ia for totally free. had to kind of squirm around the dates/weekends/flights (i.e. the 630am flight only), but still worth it.
basically looking for a weekend trip, with major flexibility

W class is highly restrictive aka if you decide to pick it, you better keep it.
Do you know what your black out dates are?
Anyway... W, A and D class fares are usually the first ones to be sold, so you will have to book this well in advance to make sure you even get it... that is unless NWA decides to force the fare for you (not likely.)
If I were you, I would save it for a week to take a trip down to Hawaii or something in the dead of winter.

yeah, last time wheni used one, the only flight times available were the early morning flight.
but i can book up to 12 months in advance. so i don't have to use it right now....and it has to be after jan 1 for the schedule anyways.
oh, and hawaii is not allowed (48 conus+canadad/alaska).

Oops.. missed that.
Could always go to Florida for March break or something.
Anyway, you still want to book as soon as you can as it will always be subject to availability, and I can assure you that with W, A and D classes, you will have a bitch of a time finding anything within a month of the flight.
If you have a round trip paid for, you may as well capitalize on it and take a week vacation, instead of just a weekend.

well, scheduling leave is kind of a limit factor. i'd like to take longer...but who knows.
but yeah, i know, from last time at least, that scheduling at least 1+ month advance helped.
