yup, i was jotting it down in notepad and did the same approach as you

children: 7 children * 2 = 14 legs
bags: 49*7 = 343 dogs * 4 = 1372 legs
343 dogs * 7 puppies = 2401 puppies * 4 = 9604 legs

total legs:
14+1372+9604=10990

Holy crap, you guys are fucking stupid.

Well, I guess that proves how common our mistake is

It cannot physically happen!!!

lol no, although binary > all.

because 16:16 < 16:18

Posted by leph555 on Nov-29-2007 21:25:

its simpler after you get rid of some legs

Posted by Frenchie on Nov-29-2007 21:25:

HAHAHAHAHHAA!! Oh boy.

Posted by _Nut_ on Nov-29-2007 21:26:

Second time I went around calculating it... I jotted it down (first time was in head and on calc only)

7 kids x 7 bags = 49 bags

49 bags x 7 large dogs each = 343 large dogs

343 large dogs x 4 legs each = 1372 large dog legs

343 large dogs x 7 puppies = 2401 puppies

2401 puppies x 4 legs = 9604 puppy legs

7 kids x 2 legs = 14 kids legs

1372 large dog legs + 9604 puppy legs + 14 kids legs = 10990 legs.

I see you edited your initial post and got the same calculations as me... so I guess you are bringing me down with you in this mathematical event

I would assume so. I mean, what are the dogs for, if not to ride like ponies?

i mean the legs are obviously still on the train, pickled in jars. gypsies don't let body parts go that easy.

I suppose because the incision is occuring above the ankle, one could argue that a loss of leg is expected in that pictar.

WE NEED CONFIRMATION OF THE CORRECT ANSWER

IF I AM WRONG I WILL NOT EVEN BOTHER TAKING THE CFA I IN JUNE AND /WRISTS

lol no, we got it right silly!! But I win! I also edited the post you quoted because I got the times wrong. FAIL!

Posted by SimFox3 on Nov-29-2007 21:33:

p = 4
d = 4 + 7p
b = 7d
c = 2 + 7b

T = 7c
T = 7(2+7b)
T = 7(2 + 7(7d))
T = 7(2 + 7(7(4+7p)))
T = 7(2 + 7(7(4+7(4))))
T = 10990

Do I win a prize?

Posted by Frenchie on Nov-29-2007 21:35:

The same answer keeps coming up and yet each new person who writes it think they cracked it.

Posted by SimFox3 on Nov-29-2007 21:38:

Let a = b
Then a + a = b + a
2a = b + a
2a - 2b = b + a - 2b
2a - 2b = a - b
2(a - b) = (a - b)
2(a - b) = 1(a - b)
2 = 1

Also the thread starter posted the solution too... who'da thunk that?

HEY GUYS I GOT THE ANSWER I GOT THE ANSWER I JUST CALCULATED IT!!

FLAWED!

2(a-b) = 1(a-b); THEREFORE
2(0) = 1(0)
0 = 0

EXAMPLE and actual conclusion:
Let a = b. Let a = 4, therefore b = 4

a = b
4 = 4

Then a + a = b + a
4 + 4 = 4 + 4

2a = b + a
2(4) = 4 + 4

2a - 2b = b + a - 2b
2(4) - 2(4) = 4 + 4 - 2(4)

2a - 2b = a - b
2(4) - 2(4) = 4 - 4

2(a - b) = (a - b)
2(4 - 4) = (4 - 4)

2(a - b) = 1(a - b)
2(4 - 4) = 1(4 - 4)

2(0) = 1(0)
2(0) = 1 (0)

0 = 0

YOU HAVE BEEN MATHEMATICALLY BETCH SLAPPED!

Posted by Boomer187 on Nov-29-2007 23:16:

i think I solved it, 10990?

not true.
since a=b, then a-b=0.
in the second to last step you have to divide both sides by a-b (dividing by ZERO).

edit: damnit, didn't see jake benson's post ><
