Good thinking.
Here's a pic of the offending drivers car that caused the crash. I don't have an after pic (you can see in the background of one of the pics) - but it's gone, written off.
What shits me is that he has another 2 cars he can drive. A VT commodore (same as mine but a newer model) and an r33 skyline - and in the mean time I'm stuck with nothing..
dang hope he pays up, i assume your car will be a right off with damage that severe to the front
OMG THAT BASTARD DEER

not insured= good luck trying to get blood from a stone
unless you take him to court you arent getting a cent
i ran into a tree once.... i fucked up the car beyond belief.
oh well.
it doesn't matter if the cops are "on your side". is there any evidence? witnesses?

My medical insurance covered the ambulance ride + medical care and whatnot so that wasn't a big deal.
And yes, there is a lot of evidence. Witnesses walking by saw him speed and slide onto my side of the road on collision course with my car. He admitted to being in 4th gear, and if your in a 60 zone in 4th gear something isn't right there.
The other driver is going after him and his insurance too, they're not even bothering me because they know he is to blame.
I'm keeping ontop of it, frequently calling police for progress - I'm meant to the offending driver tonight. I called his house last night and his mum said he would call me today, if he doesn't I'm just going to go around to his house tomorrow night. That's what the police recommended me to do if he avoids me, I don't know why he would - it's a big kick in the guts on his half that I know who he is and I knew him before the smash.
As for his V8. I know that you can still drive a V8 on your P's if you got your license before July 1st this year and also aslong as the car meets the power to weight ratio. If he was driving a 5.0 ltr V8 it might be legal for him to drive it, I'm not sure - but a 5.7 is definitely illegal.
He has a very wealthy family, if the insurance falls through his family would pay me out instead of going to court because his mother is aware of how all the evidence is pointing towards her son.
I felt bad for chasing her up about it, but if hes not going to answer my calls and whatnot it's the only way I'm going to get through.

lol i wouldve been like YO!

Spoke to the police and the offending driver today.
He admitted to the police he was in the wrong and caused the accident.
He doesn't have insurance and he called me up today suprising, I've been trying to get a hold of him since the crash. The option was settle it privately or go to court (and considering he admitted he caused the crash to the police and its on paper) it's not going to end well for him.
He agreed to settle it privately and give me the money he owes me for a new car.
So... turned out good.
Damn that looks bad. Cant help but laugh at the irony of Jim Beam seat covers though.
Yeah does make me look like a little hoon I guess.
Oh well, I'm getting the money for my car which is all I wanted. Can't be fucked spending time going to court over it.
Jim Beam seat covers? You're not missing much. That car was a total shitbox.
