The Timewriter had a good year IMO

EDM isn't the only genre of music that requires a producer. So it's anyones year really. I think asking for just ONE producer is impossible as so many had great years.

In my opinion though, as far as success and money goes. I'd go with the already posted Timbaland.

nah..not really...one of my top producers of the year...Radio Slave...Minilogue didn't have a bad year either...

timbaland is way over-rated. hes produced a couple of nice tunes but overall his stuff is just too disposable for me. and he absolutely raped duran durans sound on their new album

i hope you make a sidtune aswell and have timbaland rip it off and exploit it to the fullest. i hope it becomes the main platform for the next big thing.

seriously, i am well up to here with all this bollocks that can be seen on every blog, 80 youtube posts and countless forums about timbaland and his ripoff's. Timbaland samples/steals/ripoff/whatever you want to call it, get over it.

Will.I.Am recently said this in in a small interview for swedish tv. NOTHING IS ORIGINAL, from music to clothes to food, it's just how you spin things to make it yours.

Everyone samples, most of them without crediting the sample, get over it.

edit, hiphop producers isn't the worst at this, it's house producers, especially the discohouseproducers that has used that riff from change's the glow of love for half of their catalogue.

lots of broken sarcasm meters in herre

Yeah you're right. But I don't get that fucking hype about Timbaland. It's like people think he's god or something. Just another shitty r'n'b producer with million $$$ necklace and Ferrari and surrounded by 10 out of 10 boobs and asses. He's doing nothing better than 99% of others, with that exception that he's doing $$$$ with his shit

phil kieran, very close second.

Ripperton released nothing but fire this year imo...

Posted by RJT on Dec-07-2007 01:29:

Joris Voorn is likely my pic, but Dominik Eulberg is up there as well along with Robag Wruhme (though admittedly I just found a lot of his older records this year).

And of course Matthew Dear.

Aren't we going for overall consistency?

All 3 of those had great releases this year, but not everything they did was on par imo.

Eulberg specifically had some great stuff then a bunch of eh.

Posted by RJT on Dec-07-2007 01:35:

That's the beauty of subjective musical tastes - but if you really want me to rate consistency then it's Voorn, Dear, and Minilogue IMO.

Edit: And I say that with the full knowledge that the FALSE album was horrible.

Yeah...but you really liked all of Eulbergs stuff? I'm not saying its bad, I'm just surprised.

Minilogue was indeed making some stuff like they never have this year...

Some of my favorite stuff from Eulberg may well be stuff you despise.
