I think he should play one of his Gabber songs to reflect on where he came from

Great news! Maybe someday Tiesto and other EDM producers will soon wipe out all of the Top 40 and mainstream pop artists!!

I don't think anyone wants to listen to a 4x4 beat every single place they go, including the car radio.

Not only would it get annoying but you'd probably get sick of EDM. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM.

Just my .02

Posted by Joca on Dec-07-2007 05:31:

True. I guess you really can't grind in a club dancing to a 4X4 beat at 136 BPM's! I mean, that's what top 40 music is all about right?

Posted by Intuition on Dec-07-2007 05:56:

Meh, if Soulja Boy Tell'Em is anywhere on that list, that should say something about how pointless the Grammys are.

Posted by LionsLair on Dec-07-2007 10:54:

The Grammy's is a 3 hour commercial.

It really amazes me that people in this thread have questioned who it was who made the decision(s) for the nominations. It's a pop music award show, so the only EDM you'll see will be pop EDM. I wouldn't expect anyone but the artists listed to be on it. Get over it.

that's not true

they have special categories for pop and traditional pop

See "Field 1 - Pop", "Field 3 - Traditional Pop"

as opposed to "Field 2 - Dance"

i mean they have categories for "Best Zydeco Or Cajun Music Album", so I would hardly call it pop awards.

the basic thing is, they should make a pop dance category and separate it from an Indie dance category.

Yeah, they really don't have enough categories as it is.

Posted by nefardec on Dec-07-2007 11:29:

well played,

but you get the point i was making...

Including random genres most people haven't really heard of doesn't really say much. Most people don't listen to dance music, yet they chose the pop albums of dance music for the category. I imagine that somewhere on the internet there is a discussion just like this for a "Zydeco or Cajun Music Album." It really wouldn't surprise me if the nominees chosen for that category were considered by Cajun fans to be the pop equivalent of that genre.

Posted by SMC on Dec-07-2007 11:47:

They should have a best experimental post-glitch album artwork category.

Posted by pancake on Dec-07-2007 12:09:

It's first gramy in tiesto career?

The only way i will respect Tiesto is if he wins the award but then takes that shit and smashes it on the floor

you should hear Timbalands remix

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Dec-07-2007 13:48:

There's an important distinction to be made between pop and populist, although neither preclude the Grammy nominations from being shit.

It was a very good album indeed, though it seems strange in this category.
