Absolutely stunning track, the hook melody (with the chords) creates an absolutely incredible mood. Well done! And thanks for providing the MP3.

(Edit: If you still plan on editing it: My personal feel is that you should emphasize the individual ideas (which are all nice) a bit more. Currently, it all blends more or less together. There's one moogish filtered sawsynth with modulation and portamento - which plays a nice melody - that could stick out a bit more at times... but well, it's all a matter of taste anyway I also think that the main hook (the chords) is so nice that *I* would include parts in the track where it's not heard at all - and then suddenly brought back. You don't get used to it so fast then

Well. Anyway. Maybe I should just shut up

Lol, I wasn't expecting that! Well, you heard it here first :P Annoyed i missed it though will have to catch one of the replays! Thanks for the heads up!

This seems like a reasonable time to update the sample with one of the version played on the show. Improved bassline and slightly tweaked melody. I'm not even going to pretend that this is my last edit of the track any more :P

but there is something about the bassline i dont like
its just to jumpy
it sounds like you have boosted the eq a little low on it really bringing out one of the lower notes

although i have pretty shit speakers

other than that really nice melodies and synths

with that lead sound it just sounds a little too unclear

it sounds like there is some white noise or something in it, maybe turn that down a fraction, it just detracts a bit from the beautiful melodies you have got going

I like the ideas in the track, and the production sounds professional but the overall mastering could be touched up a bit IMHO. Good synths for sure. Has a nice John O' Callaghan feel. Sounds like something I would hear on ASOT if it were cleaned up just a bit. Cool sounds and such. Good work!

On my monitors I'd say the bassline is coming through too strongly and the kick is lower in volume than this. The kick perhaps needs some EQ in the mid region to make it more pronounced.

Other than that it is a very good piece of music, congrats.

Thanks to everyone who replied about this. I'm not bumping this with the intent of promoting myself. More a big thanks:

"The Placebo Effect", along with two more tracks which started out as just fun tracks that I uploaded onto TranceAddict, called "Maui Sunset" and "City of Angels" have all been signed (Maui was signed back in April iirc, which got the whole thing rolling).

Now Maui is on the new Enhanced compilation and all three are available to preorder on a cd EP from cdjshop (with release in a couple of weeks).

When I started producing a few years ago there is no way I would have ever expected to see a single with my name on it. It was the criticism and comments from you guys on here that helped me improve and listening to the other tracks on here that motivated it.

So basically, this was all a bit of a pointless rant just to say thanks.

Its all good so i wont bother telling u whats good assume it is all...... except... :-) Theres some melody type thing that you repeatedly increase the filters, and do it over and over bar by bar. I think you should slowly increase it through an entire chorus (that prob made no sense, but worth a shot)

Also i think the melody is repeated too much, maybe try breaking the tune up a bit. Anyways, good luck eid it, very good
