3 egg whites
munster and/or manchego cheese
mushrooms
jalapeos
cilantro
side of salsa

I don't know how to make an omelet but when I order them they tend to have these ingredients

Posted by mezzir on Dec-18-2007 17:26:

hah oh man, i just remembered the last time i fixed an omelette
i was fucking starving, so i was like i'ma make a huge omelette.
6 egg omelette. with like a half an onion, some chopped pepper, some diced ham, and a buncha extra sharp cheddar.

so yeah, utter failure at making a real omlette, just kinda ended up like scrambled egges with lotsa awesome shit, but still. fucking delicious, and i could barely move after i finished it

2 eggs, fork whisked in a bowl

Slab of butter into a pan, melt.
Put in egg mix. Make omelette the usual way.

Put on plate.
Eat.

i asked a friend for his opinion on this matter, and he agreed that while technically its an omelette, you'd have to be a total idiot/dick to call it one. it'd be like calling a lion a cat. yes, its technically correct, but seriously. come on

Welp, going to go ahead and thank Omega_M for the thread because it inspired me to go search through our fridge for what potential ingredients I have to make an omelet - nothing better than realizing you have all the ingredients for a bomb lunch at home already.

Indeed - the only bummer is we have no onion, but other than that - golden.

I stand by my unbastardized omelette recipe and declare myself pure by having only an omelette. The idea is to taste the eggs, not the crap that you put in it. If I wanted to taste ham, say, I'd eat ham. Not ham in an omelette.

No see the idea is to taste the beautiful medley of eggs & ingredients...if you wanted to taste just the eggs you would make eggs

It's like a pizza, you don't eat a pizza because you want to taste the sauce and dough. You eat a pizza because you want the sauce and dough to delicately play on your palate with the mushrooms, pineapple, bell peppers and ground beef.

3 Eggs (minimum)
Ranch Dressing
3 thick slices of canadian back bacon
two cups of Cheese Blend with Jalepanos
Mushrooms
1 clove of garlic
Salsa
Green, Yellow, Orange Peppers

Mix eggs, ranch, garlic, mushrooms, peppers, and half a cup of cheese together and cook as normal. Then add bacon, one cup of cheese and salsa and fold omlette. Then add the other half a cup of cheese ontop of omlette.

see i fucking love garlic, but there's no need for that much. gotta fix some up in some olive oil beforehand so it spreads throughout the dish

Posted by RJT on Dec-18-2007 18:16:

Here's a new one (i.e. just had it - was delicious):

1 Bagel of your choice (mine was an "everything" bagel)
1 Egg
Some of this (~1 tbsp):

1 tsp. H20.
Some hash brown potatoes (mine were frozen)
Lawry's Seasoning Salt
Pepper
Garlic
Crushed Red Pepper
Shredded Cheddar Cheese

I whisked the egg, water, and green salsa together in a bowl, then fried the potatoes with the crushed red pepper, a clove of garlic, and a touch of the seasoning salt. Once those were crispy, I poured the omelet mixture into another pan and let it cook on one side while sprinkling a little of the cheese on top, flipped it, added more cheese to the top and let it cook down on the other side while I toasted the bagel.

I put the little omelet on the bagel, the potatoes on top of the omelet, and then added the other top.

Delicious little sandwich.

i do the same. olive oil + fresh garlic + crushed red pepper + fresh cracked sea salt and pepper + pretty much anything = delicious.
