1 artisan bread (of focacia)

cover both sides of the inside with pesto then add some tomatoe and prosciutto.

And toast it lightly.

Prosciutto, Pepperoni, Salami (Real ones from the deli, not the 2nd rate lunch meats ones you find in the supermarket) on a hero/hoagie/baugette/sub. Put as much meat as possible into the bread

Optional:

Lettuce, Tomato, Oil, Vinegar, Salt, Black Pepper, Olives

I've never heard of 'prosciutto' before, but the wiki makes it sound really lovely. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to get it in my local butchers or supermarket. I'll try though.

Huzzah!
the sweetness of the tomatoe plays well with the saltyness of the prosciutto.

Now we're fucking talking! Which of the optional ingredients compliment it well?

The pesto probably compliments the dryness of the ham as well. Sounds good.

In my opinion: lettuce, tomato, black olives, oil and vinegar

Key part is to use high quality bread..it makes or breaks not just this sandwich, but any sandwich

edit: not just any olives, but black olives

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Dec-29-2007 03:40:

I've never had black olives before. I love green and red ones though, so I'm willing to try.

2 Pieces of White/Wheat/Rye bread (whatever the fuck you prefer there).
2 Slices of Boloney ()
2 Slices of Ham
2 Slices of Turkey or Chicken (Fuck it, why not both?)
Throw in some slices of Pepperoni (enough to fill the entire sandwich layer)
Bacon if you've got any. Beggin' Strips will suffice (Mikey Mike don't know it's not Bacon).
Lettuce
Tomato
Pickles
Salt & Pepper

I don't care if you don't like cheese, just put it on there.
Swiss, Monterey Jack, Colby, Chedder. Choose one or have 'em all.
Get out the mustard & the mayonaisse (or if you happen to have Durkey's then use that).

Sandwich should now be about 5-7" tall dependant on amount of lettuce used.

EAT! ENJOY!

i don't care if mikey wont eat, just reading about that shit made hungry... cheers

edit: just ate it.. good good good..

It's not a dense thing, you just asked us to make the sandwich for you and I want you to put those things on there (c'mon a sandwich just isn't a sandwich without all the fixin's). If you really don't want them on there, then exclude and enjoy. Fuck Bologna (Boloney) it's not neccesary, but you'll still have a sandwich to drool over once it's been completed.

Cube green pepper, jalapeo pepper, and add to chop blacked olives. Add a small amount of freshly shredded ginger.
I usually refrigerate in a sealed container.

Add mixture to 1 can tomato paste and half a can of tomato sauce. Heat this new mixture at low medium for 10 minutes. Add mixture to bread crumbs until you get a spread-like consistency.

Butterfly a chicken breast and brush the outside with oil. You can cook it with any method, i usually choose a bake though panfry works well in a pinch.

When the breast is nearing completion, remove it and coat the insides of it with the spread mixture. I usually add cheese at this point which you'll undoubtedly skip. This recipe works great with a bit of freshly shredded mozzarella. Finish cooking the chicken to taste and add to thinly sliced Italian bread. Toast to completion with a light oil and garlic application to outsides of bread.

Sandwich can be a little dry, but i recommend a cold dose of tomato sauce, lettuce and any remaining pepper/olive mix (applied after the toast)over the chicken as well. There is also a sweeter hot pepper that replaces the jalapeo well but the name escapes me.

Sounds awesome, albeit a lot of effort required for a sandwich.

This thread has made me realize that I'm completely incapable of creating a sandwich that doesn't involve cheese or mayo.

Then you deserve to be hit by a bus for your sins.

maple or honey mustard is especially nice with a ham and cheese

Do burger variants count?

Posted by DJ Mikey Mike on Dec-29-2007 04:29:

Nothing is nice with cheese.

Aye, usually prep a batch of the spread (sans breadcrumbs) and use on sandwiches, pasta, salads, and such until its gone. I'm a lot more healthy of an eater if i prep shit making it easier to throw stuff together later on.

Sure, take a ground chuck/round mixture and panfry it with onions, shredded potatoes, and chopped mushrooms. A small dose of cillantro can help it too. Salt and pepper to taste.

Drain and serve on a kaiser roll. With cheese
