cheers charlie, best of luck in 2008 for you and your family.
i agree with the comment about s&d just dropping bomb after bomb... dancefloor destruction, yes, but no direction... A+ night either way... just saying...
i parked underground and avoided that 1 1/2 hour lineup by riding the elevator to the main floor... hehehhe... I felt so bad for the ppl who were waiting outside... dense ass snowflakes
Security was very slack... a little too slack imo...
escalators were sickkkkk hahahaha fun times
the best way to describe the night is still just SASHA & DIGWEED heh. UNBELIEVABLE. the lighting and sound were the best I've seen/heard, except that my head started to hurt after a couple hours front and centre on the floor with the crazy bass. god, you guys better feel extremely lucky, because Vancouver is probably the shittiest place to club with practically no lighting, mediocre sound, and max. 3 hour sets that only go to 2am.
Sasha & Digweed ending with SuperMayer - The Two of Us (that xylophone sample on repeat - http://www.youtube.com/v/pk6VGYfxB6Y ).. so hypnotic. Both Sasha and Digweed have been using it in their sets as of late: John's Transitions on di and Sasha's Metrophonic Guestmix on di. I listened to the Sasha set during the drive to and from Montreal from Ottawa, and they played about half of those songs lastnight.
I wasn't too interested in seeing Sander K at first, but I didn't want to drive home in the freezing rain so I decided to stay, and I'm really glad I did.. although the DVD-J thing is kind of stupid (overall I think I liked the lighting for S&D's set better, especially with the laser), Sander had the crowd going pretty strong with tons of energy and big buildups. overall, I was very impressed.
Man.. I don't think any lineup in the future I see will rival this.. seeing Sasha & Digweed together truly is perfection.

oh god i'm deaf and can't move my legs
Got in just in time for S&D, stayed until 8, loved every minute of it.
and yeah, nice move with the $4 coatcheck...
time for a better review.
Like Charlie, I waited outside to get in for a good 1.5 hours in the snow. Although the line was moving, it sucked that once you got inside, you had to wait another 30 mins for security and coatcheck. I had no idea you could park downstairs!!! Ran into some friends that did that, and they skipped the whole line. So unfair. 4$ coatcheck, whatever. If it was 3$, no-one would complain, so whatever, get over it.
Got inside round 2:15...I think Spooky was wrapping up his set. Once inside, we were kinda pissed off that there was no alcohol at all. I mean, it's not like you NEED alcohol to make the party, but man, every other large event I've been to had it until 3am. So after 15 minutes of bitching and swearing and realizing that 3-4 red bulls was not a good alternative, we made the decision to leave to go to Cock&Bulls down the street on Ste-Catherine for some last minute shots/beers. thank god for that. By the time we got back at 3am, there was zero lineup. It would be nice if the promoters could warn about no-alcohol the next time, however I guess I won't assume there will be from now on.
Anyways, besides that little drama, the setup inside was pretty sick. The lights and DJ booth were really top notch. It wasn't "Daft Punk lights", but I doubt any event could really compete with that. The lights that descended from the roof reminded me a little bit of the Aria lights, so that was definitely a cool effect. The escalators were amazing too. Going up and down and up and down, you had a perfect view of the whole party going on! The upstairs was cool to chill-out too and take it all in. Had no complaints about bathrooms either. It seemed that the guys only waited for stalls, meanwhile 8 urinals were empty. Too funny!!
The sound very good, though my ears are still suffering from ringing. During Sander's set I could feel my hair vibrating from the bass it was that loud. Anyhow, at first I saw Digweed spinning by himself, and some random goes to me: "Ya you missed Sasha". What an idiot, two minutes later, there's Sasha and Diggers throwing it down proper. Like Charlie I can't really say that I recognized anything but who cares, that's the whole point! They played hard and dirty, and I love every bit of it.
Sander came on round 6 maybe (?) and I dunno, he didn't really keep up the momentum from S & D, for me anyways. Maybe I was just getting tired or what not. Only recognized one track from Sander, At Night (noooooob). I stuck around for most of his set, until the encore when I decided a 1 hr wait to get my coat to leave wasn't worth it, so I called it a night. It was hilarious seeing a family having breakfast at the little cafe next to coatcheck #1. Crackheads walking around everywhere and here's a small family enjoying their 8am breakfast.
En tout cas, great party, great venue, great people! I ran into 1000 ppl last night, both TAs and non-TAs, and that made it even better. Malek, Louis, Selma, vermz, markess, wisnia, elie, synchronized_swimmer or something (Tracy?), Azia, Kendo, charlie, monika, trancisson, milanster(circa 2001 woot) and more I'm sure I'm forgetting! Enjoy, I ran into a lookalike of you and freaked him out when I realized it wasn't you...oops. Nice to run into some TOTAs in for the weekend too! Shanny been a while man!, Swamper, stereoprincess, illnada and RJ (right?).
sickkkkkk
bring them again!!!!!

and im with you all the way BRING BACK these two VERY VERY SOON!!!!
Sucks to have missed this one, but glad it was off the hook. Well done Tribe, you've made me really happy in 2007 and hope you keep up the great work in 08.
SuperMayer - The Two of Us is so bad this song sucks I don't know why they still keep playing it
but Sander K wow bravo bravo he finished the night with the perfect song Chemical Brothers - STAR GUITAR
sick video btw made by Michel Gondry one of my favorite film producer (eternal sunshine of the spotless mind + la science des reves) every single image we see fits with a sound
sander is cheesy
The Supermayer track is an awesome track and I'm glad they play it, though it became kinda standard of their set in 2007. whatever
awesome party. lighting (maybey a bit harsh for the eyes, considering the size of the venue) and sounds were hawt.
its cool to see that the (questionnable) money coming from tribe is put to good use.
crazy party.
musically, i prefered digweed to sasha, but overall it was a good, though it was not transcendent.
Sander started off real good, but he turned cheese around 7am and i left
Definitely best massive of 2007. Its good to hear intelligent music in a massive, it kicks BeB and B&B to do better, and maybe one day we will see good line ups in Montreal massives. I believe that kind of competition can only be beneficial to enlight the masses to a better product, well packaged. Its the promoters responsibility to keep the scene modern and alive.

omg I had sooo much fun!!! Sasha and Digweed...you guys completely blew me away!! I think I only recognized liek 2 tracks from their entire set (PS no Coma and Park it in the shade....that made me sad :-( ..no but really it was spectacular!
I will never look at the AMC the same way again..I was really worried about the venue at first...but the lights....WOW super intense!
The VIP was pretty neat as well...minus the super sketchyness..I preferred being on the dancefloor...but they were serving alcohol upstairs all night that i'm pretty sure
We also got in through the underground parking....even witout a car ahaha we just walked right in behind a car and voila no lineup whatsoever! but the coatcheck was a good 30 min wait.
Great seeing all you guys again!!! it had been a while for me

what an amazing party!
First big party in Montreal and it was definitely worth it!
Just got back to Toronto about 20 minutes and am exhausted as hell, but definitely worth the 14 hours in driving there and back!
All I can say is SASHA!!! (and Digweed). But Sasha definitely stole was the man of the night. His first hour on the decks was unreal!
I was dancing and smiling all night long! Left around 730am, but Sander K was also doing his thing.
The venue was amazing! I've been to the place a few times for movies and stuff and was curious what the setup was going to look like!
It was definitely a party not worth missing
PS. Come on people, post videos/pics! We all know there were tons of people who got away with cameras and what not.

I thought the party was great, as soon as Sasha was finished putting everyone to sleep. I am not sure it was worth the money.

.
haha, no worries. I'll be just as blunted when I catch up with you guys for Resolution

Overall though, the lineup was the only bad part of the night (including to the coat check as well). I didn't mind the $4 fee, but gd the 1.5h lineup pissed me off to no end. Missed all of Spooky and the first half hour or so of Sasha. Meh, oh well.
Only funny part about the lineup was I overheard a couple people saying how this event is the sort of thing you travel to just to see, with me butting in and saying I just flew in from Florida earlier that day to see it. Got a couple cracks out of that and some people to talk with while waiting in that miserable line.
