It bugs me when people say that they don't go to the zone because it's too sketchy... when they're sketchier than most of the people that go there! ugh

I found my first few times at the zone were after pretty large parties at guv or where ever - the crowd is pretty normal - the same faces I saw at guv were usually at the zone. For first timers, going on a day like that may make things more tollerable. Take New Years Day for an example - there will be some of the usual sketchy people there, but the TA meet up area may be a "safe" place to play. If after a few times you still don't get it - you probably won't and it's just not for you.
See you on the dancefloor.

I always considered going on a regular sunday at 6am to be the best time to experience it initially. That way you can go in and get used to how dark it is and the rest of the club first. Then it slowly gets busier and you can get used to the crowd gradually.
I remember I went with 4-5 newbs after LOL at like 9 or 10am and they were right tripped out by the place. It's just alot to take in if you show up and the place is already a zoo.. unless you like going full on right off the bat.
I fully suggest giving CZ another shot either with non-TA friends or TA friends. Come on NYD if you can afford it. I think if you hang out in metal lounge you'll have a good time if you have enough friends with you. The Zone is all how you interpret it. You need to go in with the mentality that you'll be amused by the sketch and not scared/freaked out by it. Other than that, stay out of the bad areas, lol.
As for Pulse.. what are their hours of operations there? I'm definitely interested in checking out a club that is apparently sketchier than CZ.
It's ironic.. the first time I ever went to CZ was for Anthony Attalla back at the start of August. Since there was Carabana stuff going on at Guv I went to funhaus as a warmup to zone. I definitely found Funhaus more sketchy than zone. It was just a sketchier crowd (soo many trannys and goths). I'd like to check out Loco (as funhaus is called now for afterhours on sundays) if they ever get their sound proofing done. It said on their website that it was only going to take a week and here we are at least 3-4 months later and they are still closed. How sketch would it be partying above a Shoppers Drugmart during it's normal operating hours, lol. I guess it's like coming out of CZ for some 7-11 or BK and you run into someone exiting Hotel Waverly.
Tiesto Sux: I always fear that my car will be stolen or burglarized as well, lol

| Originally posted by activate pulse has been called 338 for the past couple of years. ![]() I was there last tuesday! I was one of 5 people that weren't Asian. Wasn't that sketchy though.. or at least people weren't acting like it. 338 is just weird cause no one speaks english. zone has way more cracky people for sure. |

I've never been to Zone if you can believe that, and I'll probably never go either. I love the DJs and the music, but dude, I just can't do it.
That's not to say that I don't after hour party, at least once a month I will trek down to Stereo for my after hours fix...

I feel safe at places like Zone after experiencing that one.

| Originally posted by nifty narcotix Alright, so I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. I've been to CZ three or four times now, and I can't honestly say I've ever had a good time there. But at the same time, I see loads of people, here and elsewhere, talking about how awesome a time they always seem to have at Zone, and how much they look forward to future events. So I'm trying to figure out why I can't ever enjoy it. Obviously, the music is awesome. No question. But the atmosphere there just seems so unfriendly and negative. I remember being genuinely scared there on more than one occasion. Is it all just in my head? Am I hanging out in the wrong places? Should I not be talking to people while I'm there? Apparently there's an upstairs....what's there? Usually what ends up happening when I find myself at zone is that I have trouble getting into the dance floor - because I can't see and am afraid of the people around me. I end up sitting on the patio most of the time and smoking. Either there or in the lounge to the right of the DJ booth. So I guess what I'm asking is for someone to please explain Comfort Zone to me. I really want to be able to enjoy it, since it is THE afterhours place in Toronto, and I live a 10-15 minute walk away from it, but I just haven't been able to up to this point. |
there are two kinds of people in this world...people who like the comfort zone and people who don't.
i personally think the place is revolting, but whatevs!
why do you feel like you need to like it? if you don't, you don't. big deal.

I dont go to the zone. After being out all night, thats enough for me. I dont see the need in being out for the morning/afternoon. Some people that sleep saturday night and then go to the zone sunday morning, I think thats awesome
