Yeah, I'm there. Heh, I don't think you'll need to worry about being the sole PVD fan attending the event.

Good to see you guys will be there. I know I'm not the only one, but can't help but see the hate on this board. There just hasn't been much buzz over one of the world's top djs coming to town. I could be the only one here to say PvD will be better than Underworld though.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? Underworld MADE EDM what it is today!!! So you thank your lucky stars for what UNDERWORLD did for the EDM, but since you are a noob at dance music I don't expect you to know the true history. I mean come on HOW MANY deejays have remixed some Underworld track? Think long and hard about that and get back to me.

IMO PVD is great and all. I have gone to NYC, Miami, and here numerous times to see him. but HE can't EVEN compare to what Underworld has done. He can't even compare to the SHOW that Underworld gives. So I have attached some reading material for you to read up on Underworld.

I understand why you want to defend Underworld. I am not a total noob, I do have some knowledge of all this. I meant nothing against Underworld and recognize that they have done a lot. Maybe PVD hasn't done what Underworld has, I can grant you that. I would have to go to the Underworld show to really be able to compare shows, but for me personally I think I will enjoy PVD better since I'm more of a trance guy. I said it before in another post as a comparison. I listen to a lot of metal too. I respect what the metal bands from back in the 80s have done for the scene, but the bands of today I believe are better. Please don't think I'm trying to attack Underworld. Oh, and thanks for the reading material.

Posted by MunkyAngel on Feb-16-2008 18:03:

i would suggest you go to underworld, because in all my years of clubbing (1999) i haven't seen a better live performance out of ANYONE! they will make you dance your ass off

Wow, 400 seems like a lot. How many tickets were there to begin with? It seems like Opera wouldn't hold that many.

Opera's capacity nearly doubled when they remodeled. The capacity is up in the 1600 range now.

Oh, I didn't realize that. I thought it would be somewhere around 800. So are you saying there have been over a thousand tickets sold so far? Well, I better get my ticket soon.

That's with the balcony open to everyone correct?

Posted by PVDfan07 on Mar-05-2008 17:24:

I have a quick question about Opera. I see various people walking up and down those stairs to the dj booth and was wondering what exactly do you have to do to get up those stairs? I'm assuming it's not for everyone, so what do you have to do to get up there, is there a guest list or something? And if so, what do I have to do to get on that list?

Posted by Liquified on Mar-05-2008 17:27:

It's VIP access and it costs extra on the door cover. Like for Benny Benassi tonight we sold $50 VIP tickets and that lets you cut the line and gives you access to the Upstairs area.

We might be doing the same thing for PVD but it needs to be run by the club today but the VIP tickets for PVD will be a lot more then $50.

Posted by PVDfan07 on Mar-05-2008 19:36:

Well, I already bought a regular ticket, so does that mean it's too late for me to get vip or can I pay extra at the door? Either way, I probably won't do it if it's going to be more than 20 or so dollars extra. Thanks for the info.

What time will PVD spin till?

I drove with a friend to DC one Thanksgiving for a massive rave at the Armoury with PVD in it. In the late 90s, PvD had a bi-monthly residency at Twilo where he would play at least six hours, which I never missed. For his residency anniversary one year he played ten hours. I use to joke to my friends I probably made PvD enough money to pay for one of his synths. Them were the days... Too bad PvD and me lost our edge.

Yeah those were the days. My times were around 02-03-04 when it was mainly trance. Made stops many trips to Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago and trip or two too New York, Miami, Scottsdale, Los Angeles.

I forget, why do you guys hate opera so much?

Posted by iammesol on Mar-07-2008 19:31:

The sound system needs epic work. The lack of space (due to the balcony being VIP only) makes for a very nice sardine can, and the crowd is a bunch of ATL style guidos.

Regardless, I'll be there.

Posted by Liquified on Mar-09-2008 05:52:

we are close to being sold out! Get your tickets before they are gone!!!!!

Posted by Jimmy D on Mar-11-2008 17:21:

Gonna see him in Miami at Space and Ultra so i think im going to sit this one out, have fun ya'll

Posted by MellowFrost on Mar-12-2008 00:19:

is opera the same place as liquified 1150? havent been to atlanta in a long time. 1150 was tiny though no room to dance. the pictures on their website looks like the same place and the adress is the same i beleive.

One Love

Posted by iammesol on Mar-12-2008 01:57:

That's the place

Posted by PVDfan07 on Mar-12-2008 07:25:

I'm ready for Thursday night! My only concern is that he won't be able to top last years show at the Tabernacle, but I know he'll be great either way. I imagine he'll be playing a lot of stuff from In Between since it's the In Between tour? And by the way, all you Opera haters, it's really not a bad place. At least it has that awesome fog machine.
