It's a vicious circle, IMHO. If you ever have kids and have to face a divorce, your life exposed at every corner - it becomes a daily nightmare. The sheer stress of the personal situation, with added weight of watching yourself and your actions for millions to ridicule must be unbearable. Some people are not strong and turn to booze, drugs, etc. I have two friends who are divorced and based on their accounts, I'd say it's one of the hardest things one would ever face. More so, if children are involved. I am living a daily nightmare of dealing with a religious fanatic in my house, and let me tell you - given the choice between drugs or Jesus, I'd prefer if my wife was hooked on drugs - those I hear are easier to get off of.

I got two kids and thinking of what a divorce would do to them, not mention to me and my spouse, I'd say it's one strong deterrent. But once you walk that plank, all that's there turns to shit and it's like having the weight of the world crashing on top of you. I've had times when I got shitface drunk to forget the pain... My wife had a moments of total insanity, like today she kicked a hole in the wall with her foot in anger. We all are HUMAN and do fucked up shit under stress. You have no idea how you would react, unless you walked a mile in her shoes. Don't fall into an escapist trap and say "fuck her, she should do X or do Y and all will be well", coz you have no clue.

I really do feel for her, crazy as she is - shame to see a once fine piece of ass go to such a waste.

Not everything can be excused with "We are all human and do stupid shit thats bad for us", we are and we do, but still there has to be a line somewhere when you say enough is enough. And she has not simply stepped slightly over the line, but she went trough it in a spectacular 200mph crash resulting in a disastrous fireball that is now her life.

I dont buy that she is simply unknowingly making one wrong choice after another, by know she must realized that she is indeed quite fucked up and that things aren't going well for her, or if she doesn't realize it herself (in which case she is a danger to herself and her children and they need to be taken away, while she needs to be put away in a hospital until she calms the fuck down) surely one of the people that surround her in everyday life must realize that (and if they dont they need to either be fired if they work for her or shot if they are family).

Now i dont have any personal experience with divorce and custody arguments and by any omnipotent deity past, present or future i hope i newer will, so i will not claim that i understand what that feels like, but if the stress of having your children taken away is so great you need something to relieve the pain, ffs try to avoid doing things that caused you to loose your children in the first place. Its sad that a child, any child has to be separated from his mother, but if the mother (or father for that matter) is an unpredictable mess who cannot follow simple guidelines to remedy her situation, then perhaps its better for the child to be taken away before he is seriously damaged. One would think that she would try to improve, if not for her own sake, then at least for the children's sake, but that is clearly not happening, the sooner she hits rock bottom and realizes what needs to be done to fix herself up and get her life back on tracks the better.

And to touch upon your own situation. As you said yourself there have been times then you got shitface drunk and you wife has moments of total insanity, but you are not shitface drunk all the time and your wife isnt totaly insane all the time (that could be argued though as its my belief that being batshit insane is a prerequisite to being religious ) you are like that once in a while when you need to relieve yourselves, and that is good, better to let the stress and anger out than to let it pile up (when my stress levels increased i changed my relief methods from stuffing myself with junkfood and getting piss drunk to shadow boxing and running until i collapse from exhaustion...for me it relieves the stress of everyday life better not to mention that i have shaved off most of thw weight i gained from the previous method which would be quite a strain by this time), but britney appears batshit insane and under the influence of something most of the time and that is not just stress relief anymore and something drastic needs to be done about it.

P.S.1
I feel your pain of having to deal with a religious nut everyday. I have missed on some quality pieces of ass because although my tolerance for pain and insanity is quite high, that level of madness is something i cant deal with every day.

P.S.2
She was a fine pice of ass indeed, the image pf her in that red latex catsuit from the Oops i did it again video still floats around my mind sometimes.

P.S.3
I apologize for the spelling errors, i have a broken finger and sometimes i inadvertently hit one or several wrong keys by mistake with that thing that keeps the finger immobile, and i dont even realize it. I try to correct them but thre are still bound to be a lot of them in the text.

Easy for you to say. I bet if that was your family you would not feel that way.

I like to try an put myself in her shoes. Life is hard enough without having your life scrutinized under a microscope.

I think you're the idiot.

I agree with emc.

Personally, I think the treatment of any celebrity is abhorrent. Why is it that their choice of career results in their simple rights being vetoed from them?

If a group of people CONSTANTLY followed me with cameras and took photos of me without my permission, would it not be my right to have them stopped? Would it not be considered stalking, which, I believe is illegal?

These people are unable to function on a day to day basis without every single aspect of their lives being scrutinized. You think the average woman gets insecure because media portrays the sexy woman to be thin and tall... how do you think a woman who is being followed at every moment, and has every inch of them plastered on hundreds of sites, papers, and on tv, where people proceed to judge them, feels?

It's ridiculous, and something should be done about it. But it seems like people have gotten this idea that "if you want to be an actress, you should know that this may be the resulted life style, and that was your choice". Blah blah blah! That is not a justification for ignoring the common decency and boundaries that should be given to every human being.

I agree with you.

As for speculating on her behaviour and how she should or should not be or act, none of us has a freaking clue.

I seriously doubt that there is anyone who posts on this site that would be able to relate to the reality of these peoples lives.

P.S.

The amount of money one has doesn't always correlate to how easy one's life is. I am sure it often complicates it even more in a lot of cases.

P.P.S. Those of you who wish ill will to her or anyone else need to grow up.

P.P.P.S. I fully agree that people really shouldn't care about celebrity lives as much as they do.

and that excuses her shitty parenting, her drug abuse, her alcohol abuse, her inability to face life and get help?

These aren't products of media attention, but the products of the person.

For the good of those kids they need to be taken away, a long way away. Fuck, for the good of Britney they need to be taken away, although she hasn't realised already that fixing up her life will result in getting her childrn back i doubt this new episode will make her realise either.

Any personality is going to be partially formed by their life's experiences. Her experiences, and circumstances have resulted in what is going on with her now.

Is it solely to blame on her circumstances? No. Is it probably exacerbating the problem? Highly likely. If she were an average person, would the same thing happen? Maybe.

Again... you can't really speculate. Either way, the negativity from people isn't called for.
