I found this map, but it doesn't have directions from the border. you can always ask though

incase you are going to drink and drive in mexicali
make sure u have at least a twenty dollar bill in your wallet
mexicali cops are corrupted

i got pulled over like 6 times in mexicali drunk
and ive been able to pay off the cops..
im sure they dont want to deal with the paper work and bs
they'd rather take cash

mexicali is a cool place to party cheap beer, cool clubs
and if u dont want to drink and drive mexicali has million of taxis
so yeah... reason why i drank and drove was i wasnt going to leave my lexus is300 anywhere in mexicali fuck that.. i remember being at this one club one time over there, and some dude went outside to get something from his brand new truck and it was GONE!!
and he hadnt got insurance to leave the country so just imagine!!!
he looked pretty upset LOL .....sad but funny

Here's more 411. For those going, if it's a large group, you guys should do a meet up and go together.

VENUE
This venue is 10-15 minutes away from the border. It is NOT in the Strip or Hotel District. According to my cousins, they told me that it's a banda place (Mexican Country Music). I have no idea how the neighborhood is, as I never been on that side of Mexicali. I will try to find out more.

TICKETS
I emailed the promoters for more info on securing tickets for everyone that's going from here. Otherwise, be prepared to pay $30 at the door.

HOTELS
The major/nice hotels are all located in The Strip aka ZONA HOTELERA. Here's a few of my choices.

- Araiza Inn

- Crowne Plaza Hotel

- Hotel Lucerna

STAYING OUT OF TROUBLE
- If it's illegal in the US, it's more than likely illegal in Mexico!!! Drugs are a huge NO NO by Mexican cops. They will lock you up and make you pay a hefty fine if you get caught.

- More than likely you will get inspected by Mexican Immigration & Customs as you enter Mexico.

- Don't wear excessive jewelry. Just don't.

- Mexican parties tend to last all night. Usually they go way into the morning hours. But, this is a Thursday, so I dunno.

- Obey all traffic laws. They mexican traffic laws are similar to our. Pay attention to traffic signs. All posted speed limits are in KPH (Kilometers Per Hour). For instance, a sign with a 65KPH posted is NOT 65 MILES per Hour. That's 65 KILOMETERS PER HOUR or 40 Miles Per Hour.

- Don't Drink & Drive. Besides being stupid and killing your self or others, there's checkpoints all over the city.

MEXICAN AUTO INSURANCE
- Trust me!!! It's worth it. There's tons of places in Calexico that sell Mexican Auto Insurance for cheap. I pay $30 for full coverage for my 2008 Honda Accord.

UPDATE

- Party is ALL AGES
- VIP Tix Are $60 (If you buy 6 VIP Tix, you get a bottle of Absolute)
- Party goes 'til 5AM.

What's VIP like? Worth it?

Posted by dajacobo on Jan-08-2008 07:56:

anyone coming from the valley???
i did VIP for Tiesto In Tijuana.
best part about it was being able to get inside quick.
other than that i personally like to be with the crowd.

By the looks of these videos it looks like it was OFF THE HOOK!!! Now I'm bummed out I missed out!!!

Posted by TSG on Jan-19-2008 05:26:

Damn! I wish I could've been there too!

Posted by DJ Simo on Jan-19-2008 07:31:

It was a pretty good show. Nothing mind blowing or different about it. It was pretty much what you'd expect from Armin.

Btw I think we we're the only Americans there, hehehe I was kinda bummed that he only played for 2 hours.......

One cool thing, right before the show we checked into our hotel and on the way out 1/2 of our group caught Armin sitting in the hotel lobby and got to talk to him and take pictures with him.
